I don't have a team in baseball but my twin brother loves the Yanks. So, on that note ....

Q: What is the difference between baseball and law?
A: In baseball, if you're caught stealing, you're out. ---

Con~~~ius say that baseball very funny game; man can walk on 4 balls.

---
Q: What is the difference between Mel Rojas and UPS?
A: UPS knows how to throw a strike.
---
Wade Boggs, Steve Garvey and Pete Rose are in a bar. A pretty woman walks by and Boggs says, "I'm going to ask her out." Garvey replied, "You can't do that, she's carrying my baby." To which Rose added, "You wanna bet?"
---
One Day the Devil challenged the Lord to a baseball game.
Smiling the Lord proclaimed, "You don't have a chance, I've got Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, and all the greatest players up here."
"Yes", laughed the devil, "but I have all the umpires!"
---
The American MLB is deciding whether or not to reinstate Pete Rose in the 98 season. When asked about it, Rose said, "I hope they do, cause I've got $100 riding on it."
---
I love autumn. It gives me a chance to sit at home and watch the world series. A bit like the Dodgers.
---
Q: What do you get when you cross a tree with a baseball player?
A: Babe Root.

My beloved Texas Rangers lost the first game of their 2008 season last night. Just wait 'til next year! :( Oh, wait...I've been saying that for thirty-seven years.

I'm an Orioles fan. A world of hurt...

We like to say that we play the game for the joy of it, the very Zen-ness of it; we don't care about winning or losing - those are so grasping-me-oriented kinds of sentiments. Anyway, I keep telling myself that, 'cause another sub - .500 season is under way...

What is the face of someone sighing...?

:D

Unfortunately, my Texas Rangers...according to their standings through the years...don't understand baseball either. :( :p

Being in Annapolis, I have the choice of the Birds or the Gnats.

I don't like bugs, the National league or the Yankees.

Once at Memorial Stadium, it was the bottom of the 9th and we were down by 10 runs with 2 outs. I was still yelling for a rally.

I have never booed the team, nor anyone on it.

All that said, I have yet to go to the new stadium and baseball to me, is the Little League World Series. Now that is true baseball!

sub .500? we may very well end up sub .100. 1 of 3 reasons to watch the team left when Bedard was traded (not that he shouldn't have stuck around, he did need to go), and Macphail finally got the Roberts deal done. So now we jsut have Nick rockin' out in Right. I'm not sold on any of the new guys just yet - that whole 10 for 2 deal Macphail pulled off is almost too good to be true...

the worst part is, i pay for MLB.TV every year to catch every game I can...talk about being a masochist:D

*sigh* 1 down...161 to go...

The Robert's deal is done?!? Where? For whom? Did you mean Gibbons saying bye-bye?

Sheesh, it's hard to keep up...

Ahhh - but then, it really could have been true. Roberts will be gone by July 1 - not his fault, and good to get out of Dodge while you can...great player, too.

Toledo? Why not root for the Tigers? Just up the road, and hey, they're good!

I'm not a baseball fan anymore, but I grew up in Baltimore in the 60s, so my team was one of the great O teams: Jim Palmer, Andy Echebaren, Boog Powell, Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson, Davy Johnson, etc. To me, they were comparable to the 50s Yankees. This was in the day before free agency when you had teams that stayed together.

The most memorable play for me (that I saw in person) was when a batter hit a line drive between SS and 3rd. It was hit so hard I only had time to follow the ball with my eye. By he time it got to Brooks, he was horizontal, in the air and caught it as a line drive (out). The man had amazing reflexes.

I absolutely loved Boog Powell. To me, he was like Babe Ruth. He either hit it out of the park or struck out. A great player.

I have great memories of seeing them at Memorial Stadium. I also saw the Colts play the Packers there in 1966. Earl Morrell was the QB for the Colts. I remember it was mighty cold.

But I digress into another sport :)
