Can anyone recommend an inexpensive, easy-to-use-by-a-novice, stand-alone sample editor (Wintel or Mac) that has a good capability for removing low-frequency noise in a .gig sample? I hope this is a one-time need so I don\'t want to spend a lot of money and I don\'t have software that would support a plug-in. Ability to read and write .gig format without intermediate format conversion would be nice.

Thanks for any advice,
jim

Basically, you can\'t repair samples within Giga--export is required. You might try finding a downloadable demo of Sound Forge or Cool Edit if you really have only a one-shot need. If the demo is time-limited rather than feature-crippled you may beat the system.

Another thought...if you aren\'t currently using any filtering in your .gig file you might try a highpass filter for that sample (filter tab).
