Keyswitch from solo and tutti in Finale

Could someone give me a quick course in using the keyswitches from solo and tutti using Finale? The keys I believe are C and G, but lie outside the range of my keyboard (i.e. trumpets) and switching the octave that my keyboard plays does not seem to solve the problem.

I assume I am to enter the note (perhaps in a different layer) to keyswitch?

I know that much. Please read the entire thread. I don't know how to enter the note since it lies way out of the range of my keyboard.

Bill,

Most keyboards have the ability to shift octaves up or down, allowing you to play any note. But even if you can't do that, just enter your keyswitch note in Finale. (in a separate layer) You can transpose that note down to the correct octave.
