I just sampled a bamboo flute. Not extensive, only one layer.

Quick demo here:
http://finjaco.home.online.no/Jazz2k_-_Bambodemo.mp3 (\"http://finjaco.home.online.no/Jazz2k_-_Bambodemo.mp3\")

Now the problem is that I don\'t have any space to host the .gig (which is 5mb packed). If there is any interest in this flute I\'d need some kind of hosting service. If not then I\'m sorry.

Wow Thomas, the 0:31 part and on in your demo sound amazing and pretty realistic. The fast vibrato at 0:43 reminds me of the flutes Zimmer likes to use.

Is it you performing these flute samples? http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif

Thanks Maarten! glad you liked it. Yes I\'m performing it. Not much of a performance though http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif For everyone who downloads it you might want to check out the unassigned \"dirty\" staccato samples in your giga editor. They might be of some use. They\'ll need heavy tuning, though.

Oh and another thing if you try the flute: Don\'t forget that it\'s modwheel controlled! The modwheel opens up the lowpass filter. Works good for legato phrasing where the first note needs the crispy attack and the second note should glide without an attack.

So keep that in mind when you try it. Use the modwheel.

Oddly enough, Thomas, just yesterday I was looking all over the \'net for reviews and free samples of flute-like instruments. Almost started spending 100s of bucks on random libraries just to get some flute variations. http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/tongue.gif

This will help hold me over until I can really allow myself to drop some cash. Thanks!

Hi Thomas

Just wanted to say thanks!!!

I liked the Demo. What Sound Libraries did you use for this Demo? Which Percussion Library would you recommend?

Thanks

Thanks again http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif I hope you\'ll find loads of use for the flute. I know I\'ll have. Yesterday I sampled violas (eh maarten http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif and they turned out pretty good. Next on my list is a bunch of ethnic flutes (including a duduk) some orchestral percussion and more brass. I\'ll probably keep these sounds to myself though. This flute was just some quick job because I needed the flute for a tune I was working on at the moment. Since it was so tiny I decided I could just share it.

Thomas

If you want to sell some of those upcoming ethnic flute samples, I am willing to pay for them, especially those with a legato option.

Thomas

If you would be willing to sell a Brass Section or good Strings I am willing to pay for them. I found the way you programmed the Bamboo with using Modulation very effective and easy to learn. Have you thought of making Thomas J samples and selling them as individual Downloads like Sonic Implants? I would be willing to pay for something like this.

Let us know!!
