Hey Francis,

You absolutely snapped out of the writer\'s block!

First piece was airy and inspirational. Voices suggestive without overpowering. Very nice.

Second piece: Dark, it brought to mind some moments in the score for Angel\'s Heart, by Trevor Jones (take that as a compliment, because I really like that soundtrack). Specially some of the rythmic parts.

Third piece: Very original indeed! I really like subtle atonalities and original instrumentations. A very different ethnic type piece (reminiscent at the beginning of Millenium)

Very nice work! Also, what sound processing do you use as far as reverb, EQ, etc? I\'m asking because the mixes sound real clean and nice.

Kudos, post some more!

Nice stuff Francis http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif. I especially liked the 2nd demo. I agree with MrArkadine, it does remind me of \'Angel Heart\'.
I think the 3rd demo could be longer. I was wanting to see where it was gonna go.
Keep posting!

PS. Trevor Jones!!

Cool beans. You might as well have said, Randy Edelman too.

I love their work. You could probably hear the, Last of the Mohicans, rip off in the first piece http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

In fact, Randy Edelman (Gettysburg) is the reason why I started writing film type music. I was a touring rock, Geddy Lee type Bassisit before that movie came out http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

Hey thanks! Now it is working. I\'m using pc, but I NEVER had any problems with flash. Don\'t know what\'s the problem...

I bet it\'s because I made the page at 2AM! LOL. I think it may be due to the fact that the link tries to speak to an mp3 player that will stream, ie windows media.
On my site... the links will take you to a custom made pop up player with timeline.

Its very cool!

Anyway. Back to the music. Post a comment if you have time.

Hey,

It\'s tough for talented people such as you to output bad quality stuff. As for me, I have posted some real simple demos in the past, and I\'m glad I did, because constructive criticism is always welcome. So don\'t be so demo-shy! http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif

Francis,

The truth is that I heard Last Of The Mohicans a long time ago, but I thought at the moment that it was a great epic-melodic soundtrack. I didn\'t know it was Randy Edelman that did it.

Francis: \"I was a touring rock, Geddy Lee type Bassisit before that movie came out\".

1) Gettysburg. Awsome film and I have played that cd to death too. Great soundtrack to match such a tragic event in US history.

2) Another basss player turned keyboardest! (As I am) Everybody knows bass players make the best composers. http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif Yeah, I like G. Lee (N. Peart and Rush) along with many prog-rockers. Stu Hamm, awesome bassist and writer. I get the idea you are Italian? So you must of heard of a favorite band of mine called Aqua Fragile? (And PFM, and Le Orme, and...).

3) Your demos: one of those sounded very vampire inspired. http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif Very moody...

Go to C. Jane Run. We toured with Eddie Money.

Geddy Rules!

Gettysburg is amazing. I spent 6 years as a Civil War Reenactor. I, and many of my Union reenactor buds http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif, were extras in the film. The unit I was in is the 61st NY. Many of them, if not all, were in Glory as well.

Funny! I have the Glory CD not a foot from me. (Horner) I just got the CD a few days ago. I have played the AH games, the PC Gettysburg game, and have done a lot of history reading. Reenacting would be a blast. For the movie Gettysburg there was a special and \'making of\' which I taped, and my copy of the movie JUST came back from loan. The funny nexus of life...

Non of the tracks are MIDI. Live via Giga into Vegas per instrument/track. I think I used around 12 tracks per piece and the reverb was, Waves RVerb and a blend of NFX.

Also, thank you for the invite to post more.
I like incentives.

Hey Francis,

All 3 pieces are excellent. I look forward to hearing the way they develop. They also sound extremely good, with IMHO the exception of the Timpany in 1&2 that doesn\'t have the quality of the rest of the sounds. But apart from that, excellent!!

Well done,

Chris
