Odd question about Strad violin and midi controllers

I'm purely a pianist so I don't know how to play violin but I'm just curious. If a violinist were to get an electric violin and hook it up to a computer via midi and loaded the Garritan Stradivari instrument how would the Strad sound and react to the electric violin? Would it react like a real violin to the signals coming from the electric violin? Thanks :)
