A quick example of violins playing in legato.
http://finjaco.home.online.no/violinslegato.mp3 (\"http://finjaco.home.online.no/violinslegato.mp3\") (500k)
Can you guess what this is?

Sounds good. Don\'t know the piece but it sounds like a variation on a motif from Williams (the one that goes Den, de de den, de de den, de de den - that\'s the bass. Then the brass goes:
Pah pah, pa pa pa pah pah, pa pa pa pah pah, pa pa pa paaah)
I hope you guys can read music :-)

Hey Thomas! So I was right! Can I get a prize? (Lots of smiley faces here that I don\'t know how to do).
Actually, maybe it was Mahler: the one that goes AAAAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAEEEEEUHUHU HUHUHUHDRUMDRUPUMRAHHHHHCLABAH?
What are samples, by the way?
King\'s custom grand detaches from GOS??
just guessing, sounds great http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

I played GOS grand detache and slides next to it. Subtle EQ but its GOS to my ears. Must be using looped versions of detache that I don\'t have yet. Hey King, when will we get them??

Dammit you\'re getting me in trouble TJ!!!
Its not the GOS Detaches BTW.. They have way more vibrato http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif
and soon I\'m hoping wll work on them tonight

Sounds like AO to me, but that seems too obvious.

Holy cow! Dis is right. It must be Kirk Hunter. 2 violins at lower volume 24 EspTame and 24 noVib at higher volume plus some slide samples. Hey King if you have Kirk Hunter please check this out. The layer of these 3 patches is much more playable than any of the gr detaches in GOS. I hope this is what your shooting for.

So is Scores right?

Nope scores is wrong. I know what it is, but its up to Thomas to tell you what it is i guess http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif
I think more importantly you guys should be asking youself if you like the sound more than what library it is http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif
Anyhow, about KH I dont have it, but I\'d expect a layer of solo/small section over an ensemble section would be the most playable/best sounding string section over any ensemble patch. Its jsut that oyu are allowed to mix them to taste, so the sound can vary and you can get different attack curves on both layers allowing for some nice expression.
As for the GRDET updates, they are more jsut loops for the people asking, and I tried my best to capture the vibrato in the loops.
About Expression with GOS. I\'ve come up with a feature/idea on building more \"out of the box\" expression with the EXP instruments. Its actually a quite simple idea and until using the library for a while and finding out what people really like, I never thought of it.
Its an expansion on the EXP concept but simplified for people who dont always need the control of the EXP curve.
Anyhow. I want to do the edits myself for this, but I dont have the time for it right now. I\'d like Tom to do it, but he\'s going nuts on a crazy idea right now thats really cool.
Anyhow, this new idea, justifies for me that more dynamics and crossfading is the future. Hopefully we see it in Dan Dean BE and I\'ll give him an E-mail about it.
ok way off subject.
Thomas.. jsut tell them already.. :P

Great writing, Z6! What library are those brass samples from? Sounds like Pa Paah Chalk! http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif

Yes Damon! you win. It is in fact the multisample programs from Peter Siedlaczek\'s Smart Violins (Lite version).
Sustains, staccato and an octave glissando patch layered in on 3 different tracks.
20mb of samples altogether.
Congrats Damon http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

I really liked your Demo.
And I was thinking of layering it
with my Roland SRX-04 Expansion Board.
Would I get good results doing this ?
Thanks for reading!

The reason I posted this demo is because I have bought this library for some pop production work, and I really found the sustains, staccs and gliss really useful. In fact I haven\'t been able to achieve this kind of legato playing with any other library (although I don\'t know how GoS would stand up against it)
The library mainly focuses on phrases, so Veron you might want to check out another library since this library only consists of 20mb of multisamples, the rest being phrases.
And only violins. No violas, celli or dbasses.
I still like this library, but be careful if you expect a full blown multisample library, because it is not.

Mr.Thomas_J,Thank you for your reply.
I didn`t that there were pnly 20MG`s
and the other samples were phrases.
Thanks for telling me that. But I really love the sound in this library.
And I was thinking there were only Violins in it,because of the Libraries title.
BTW,I looked up this title on the web,
and it looks like Mr.Peter Siedlaczek
made this library.Are other libraries
like \"Advanced Orchestra Strings Ensemble\"
or \"Orchestra(from EAST WEST)\" sound good like this?
