Hi all

I am looking to expand my present AO Brass set and have been considering Quantum Leap Brass.

Of those who have purchased or heard the library, what are your views? Is it a good library to have considering the cost?

- Will it be able to provide really strong Orchestral Brass sounds (I am thinking Star Wars style here!)
- How does this library compare to the DD brass library?

Any comments or demos showing how this library sounds would be greatfully received!

I have checked on the Sounds-On-line web site although I cannot succesfully download the demo there.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark

if its possible for you to receive MP3s then post me your email and I\'ll send you a minute-or-so long clip from a score for a short film I\'m currently working on that uses QLB in a full-orch setting.

While far from perfect, its a brilliant 1st generation Giga brass library with some really well-thought and playable instruments.

Thanks for your kind offer Micheal. I have sent you my email and look forward to receiving the file.

I have done a bit more research on QLB and DD brass libraries during my lunch break.

I see the QLB has no solo french horn samples although it was suggested that an update was in the pipeline.

The reviews I have read class the library as great for solo trumpets and good for other instruments, maybe with the weakness of the library in the trombone samples. Would you agree with this? I was an orchestral trombonist myself so I might have high expectations here!

I have also had a little more time to read about DD brass. It seems, that as is the case with most libraries, that a combination of the two would be great. However, not wanting to spend out to buy BOTH of these expensive libraries, which would suit my orchestral big brass sound the most? QLB or DD?

Over to you guys!

I see that have the AKAI version of QLB on great discount.

If I used ChickenSys to convert QLB to Giga, what would I be losing out by buying this in Akai format rather than the native giga version?
