I have a bunch of udu samples on my percussive elements cd, but I don\'t really like any of them. I am hoping to find some free stuff online to meet this simple need. Any ideas? Are there sites with tons of free soundfont downloads? Perhaps this is my best bet?

I think there is one on Worra\'s site. I\'m not sure how good it is but it\'s free!

Isn\'t there an Udu on Ethno World? Or Heart of Africa perhaps?

What do you need this for? Or could you use some other ethic instrument? The reason why I ask is that I have some other things (in house) that might get you by.

Well, ever since I heard a friend play his Udu, I fell in love with the sound. I love the watery sound they have. But I am in California and he is in Ohio so I can\'t record him! And the samples I have don\'t sound nearly as good as what he played (of course)!
I probably could get by with something else. I have never written ethnic percussion before. So this whole process is going to be big learning experience. I am used to thinking in terms of kick drum and snare, etc and now I am not sure where to begin with this song I am writing. I can hear the beat in my head but I can\'t transcibe it!
