Hey all.

So, after reading the advice about hard drives for a Giga and Sonar set up (OS on C,
Sonar audio on D, Giga samples on E) I bought that thrid hard drive.

Yikes!! I am not sure how to hook this bad boy up (80gig 7200 IDE Internal)

My pc\'s mother board has 2 slots for IDE ribbon cables. The first says PRIMARY...
That hooks to my D drive as slave and the jumps to my C drive as master.

The second says SECONDARY (go figure)...
It hooks to my CDROM and the jumps to my CDR drive.

So, I am thinking that my CDROM drive is getting wacked tonight?

Whats the best way to add this 3 hard drive?

Thanks so much.
Francis

or another IDE controller in your PCI slot

Putting the drive on the same chain as your CDRom isn\'t really that great.....nor is putting it on the same chain as your AUdio CD if you are plannin gon high poly and getting good streaming rates off your Audio drive....

dunno.....really dunno.... Jsut try them and see which works best for ya

\"The second \"data\" drive should also be a 7200 RPM drive, and should be reserved strictly for GIG files and other sampler files used by your applications (Halion or Reaktor for instance). Make this drive the secondary IDE master.\"

This was from Bruce R.

Am I reading him correctly? If he is saying make 3 data drive the scondary IDE master that would mean removing my cdrom drive and the cdr would be secondary slave.

This works for me... I dont need 2 roms...

but is this what he his saying?
