Friends and Forum Members:
Recently, I became a "Listener Award" winner. As I stated before, having been recognized by my fellow Forum members is a satisfaction that surpasses any material award and, again, I thank you.
In my opinion, the Garritan Authorized Steinway Piano is a cherished sample library. One that is coveted by all that own one. When I won that prize, I had to confess to Gary that I had already purchased his great library. He then offered (in his own inimitable way) to present me with ANY library of my choice. Thinking this over, I realized that many of our Forum musicians are not able to purchase the Steinway for one reason or another, but would love to have one........so this is my plan:
I'm going to give my Garritan Authorized Steinway Piano away to the winner of a "private" piano solo composition contest. Here are the rules:
1. Contest is open to all current Garritan Forum Members that
do not have the new Garritan Authorized Steinway Piano.
2. Submit a piano solo composition of not more than 3 minutes.
May be a short work or part of a larger work.
3. Submit in Mp3 format to JCMusic@sbcglobal.net no later
than November 5. Entries WILL NOT be posted on the Garritan
Forum.
4. Rendering is not a critical criteria. I realize that a lot of good
musicians are not audio specialists so your work will not be
judged in that area. The composition is the important thing
and may be written in any genre (Baroque, Classical, Romantic,
Modern, Contemporary, etc.).
5. The entries will be judged by myself. Truse me as I am a fairly
competent judge (two degrees in music; Piano and Composition).
The winner and his/her composition will be announced and posted
by Mr. Gary Garritan as soon as possible after the closing date.
I hope this will be fun for all that want to own the new Steinway library. For me, the satisfaction of knowing that someone will win this sample library, which will motivate and stimulate their music production, is reward enough.
Let's face it........Things can't be better than when one "Listener's Award" makes more than one person happy........
Please direct ALL questions to me (Jack) at JCMusic@sbcglobal.net
Now, let's start composing.........
