The past 2 or 3 years Gary and folks have had some kind of sale near Christmas for Garritan products. last year was a rotating product sale, the year before, I don't remember, but it was something different.
has anyone heard about this year's sale? when does it normally start?

Beagle,
A sale would be a good thing to offer this time of year. We could do a weekend sale or a group buy on existing products. What would you all like to see offered? How long and what kind of discounts?
Let me know. :)

i'd like to see them free and forever. it might not be too good for business, so you could make the offer just to me.
if not i'm not sure. i have all the garritan libraries i really need, which were low priced as is. i'm just waiting for ARIA. that would be enough of a christmas gift for me.

The Go-Round was a ton of fun. Maybe something like that again, of course with with mystery prizes, freebies, and perhaps another massive unveiling at the end? :D
Like Keith, I have most of the Garritan libraries already so a sale would not apply to me. A group buy might be worthwhile, other companies use group buys to get new clients on the current version of a product shortly before a new version is coming out. With the group buy price and the upgrade price users usually still get a good deal and Garritan gets some extra revenue during the economic rough patch.

I, too, have all the Garritan libraries I really need. However, I am anxiously waiting for the Choral library, so if that could be included in the sale I would definitely go for that! )(~

No, really .... I think it's a good idea. What do you say we have a Garritan Garage Sale? I could use a new garage.
Alright, I'll go now ....
Nope, still here. Gary, you're not going to give away free nose hair clippers to the first 100 sales by midnight next year are ya? Huh? Those dang things hoit!

I could absolutely be tempted to purchase GPO (the current version) if the price is right...
Still wish the Gofriller was available...

Mr. Gary -
If or when you decide to do a group buy or some other savings event, it would be most generous. Those events have been very helpful for me in the past in purchasing your (and others) libraries. So, I just want to say THANK YOU, again, for previous year's discount events. :)
These are tough economic times so it would be understandable if nothing were to be held this year by any software company. I say this sincerely.
But with "this" said. . .
My vote would be the "Go-Around". It was just a lot of fun! :D
Good luck with whatever decision you do, Mr. Gary.
And. . . Happy Holidays to you! :)

I agree that the "go around" was a lot of fun! I didn't buy anything in it last year, but I was very tempted and stayed on that page a lot thinking aobut it! this year I might just do it!

Fortunately I have very nearly all the Garritan libraries. Otherwise I think I would land myself in a lot of trouble following this thread!

I would love to see a group buy or other major discount on GPO.
Please let me know if it is happening...
Another positive thing coming out of this is that I will add my location on the Garritan map *hint - this place on the map is still not marked by anyone*. ;)

I didn't buy anything last year but I was monitoring like nuts the candle light for hours, while composing (!!!!) It was huge fun, even for members who didn't buy anything. "Go round" please for me as well!)(~
This time around, I would be tempted to buy GPO, and of course I can wait for the price to drop, but just wanted to add that $199 is a steal! :wow:

What's the "Go Round" scheme? Good question let's ask Mary.
I for one am against the go round. Why? Because it induces insomnia, extreme paranoia, anxiety and heart palpitations.
Or maybe I'm just a freak.....:p

What's the "Go Round" scheme? It’s where a web page is set up where a Garritan product appears there for a sale price. A certain number are allocated and you have until they are gone to purchase one. When they are gone, another product will appear (but you don’t know which one). If you miss a product you want, don’t worry it will appear on sale again. You just don’t know when. Along the way were a few surprise giveaways.

Wait a minute! I must have been really asleep at the wheel last year. Surprise giveaways?!? Oh man, I knew I should have been paying more attention. I was just so excited I got the Concert & Marching Band library at such a great deal!!! I don't even think I want to know what the giveaways were. Please don't tell me I missed out on that engraved bust of Gary Garritan with that funny little mark on his....http://northernsounds.com/forum/images/icons/icon10.gif
Well, never mind, this is a family show. I keep having to remind myself that. In any case, I've been wanting one of those busts forever!!! Rats!

I still had Lilly Fellowship money then and bought everything except the Steinway - which I now have the basic. So the Go-Round will not do much for me - but it was fun and wore me out!

Are you giving away another one of these this year?

GaryIf I remember correctly, they were a free copy of the Garritan Xmas CD and a free subscription to Keyboard magazine.

For how much did the GPO go for at the last christmas sale?
How about the last group buy?
What are the chances for a sale this christmas?
Any announcements in advance will be most helpful so that I can manage my software shopping accordingly.
Thanks in advance.

However you decide to do a sale (if you decide to do one), I would just recommend doing it ASAP, so as many people as possible can get these libs by Christmas.

Thanks for your input. We'll have a short sale before the holidays. We won't do a go-round yet until early 2009 when we have more to offer. That will be a blast and looking forward to it. I'll announce something for the holidays.
Thanks again for your input.

I'd like to see GPO offered. I don't own it yet, but am waiting for the price to come down. $200 at the moment seems out of my budget, but if it was lower in price I could be persuaded !
Also -- whats the difference between a "short sale before the holidays" and a "go-around" in early 2009?

Two sales is much better than one. *()
This is totally speculation here, but I think I smell the Garritan Organ and Aria versions of the current libraries for early 2009, or at least GPO.
We shall see. :D

Hey, Gary - are you going to announce a Christmas sale in this thread for us? can you give us a hint what you're thinking about doing since you said you'd wait until after the holidays for another "go round"?

You can't have a sale while the pound is so low against the dollar. It's illegal.

Hi Gary -
Awesome! I noticed that my web browser shows the order page is not secure/encrypted... will this be updated for secure ordering, or should I place an order by phone?
Again, thanks and you rock Gary :D
Edit: I tried browsing to the order page now from the GPO section of the site, and that version of the order page is secure... so guess it's just the "Order Now" link on the home page that may be mis-linked. Ordering now from the secure page I found. Thanks!
