This is a cautionary advisory- an eBay vendor going under the email name of \"johhnycinder\" is selling (legitimately) a series of CDs from German producer Nicebytes. There are two basic product lines, the \"Synthline\" set is synthesizer samples, and the \"Studioline\" purports to be orchestral, real instrument samples.
The orchestral samples are VERY poor synthesizer instrument simulations, and the new Gigastudio format samples are almost all sampled with a fast, LFO vibrato and mushy decay making them totally useless, even if you liked the synth sound.
I contacted the distributor, who is just setting up his business. He said he was unaware of this deception and quite apologetic, and said he will refund my money.
But I\'d suggest not buying these disks...

Well, I just checked on eBay and the American vendor has withdrawn the \"orchestral\" samples after I notified him of the situation. It appears he is an honorable man. I appreciate that (especially as I need to get my $$ back!)

I just received an email from Nicebytes, I'll post it here. I'm not sure why after all this time they are responding, but here's the post, if the moderators wish to delete the thread, Nicebytes would like it...
CD counterfeiting
Hi David,
it's about a text which you have written 8 years ago.
Someone has given you false information.
Someone has copied our cover of the CDs.
We had no distribution in America. This CD-ROM are fakes.
Do you know the real names of johhnycinder?
We had not appointed a ebay vendor johhnycinder with the distribution of our CD.
This man has not sold our CDs.
He has sold counterfeit CD-ROM.
We have never produced the GigaStudio format or offered.
This information is incorrect.

It would be very nice if you would delete the post.
That would help us a lot.
Thank you and good luck for your future and your wonderful music.
Best Wishes
