I\'m working on the new Dan Dean Brass Ensembles. There is a beta version of the Trombones at NAMM on one of the PC\'s at Big Fish Audio. If you check them out, you\'ll get a sense of the sound quality of the new library. Go see Donnie. Tell him Dan sent you.
My legs are tired from walking about 1,000 miles.

Interesting Dan, but what about the rest of us who can\'t go to NAMM - when will we see a demo at your site??

I just started the DDBE project over the Christmas Holidays, so I have recorded and edited only a portion of it. There will be demos when the other instruments are ready. I\'ll make more info available later. The instrumentation will be 3 Trb, 3 Tpt and 4 FH. New features and design. Excellent sound quality.
Later,
DD

I really hope there\'s a lot of ambience in this. Listen to Maartens trumpets. That\'s what ambience adds to samples. Dan can\'t you just post a few notes? I am very eager to hear it!! http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

Dan, if your ensembles are as good as your solo instrruments, you can already sign me up for a copy!
Actually, I\'ve been thrilled with using your solo instruments layered with QLB, but it would be nice to not have to layer so much.

Why didn\'t Donnie mention them to us? We were standing right there talking to him. \"aWWW CRAP\" is right!

I think its more of the fact that we didn\'t ask Pat http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif
plus I was in such a rush at that point, I would have asked had I more time. Oh well.. Did you atleast get to check out Miroslav Choir?

Did you know that Dan\'s demos were at the BigFish booth? I didn\'t. (Of course, someone may have told me, and I wasn\'t paying attention--perhaps all those pretty booth lights distracted me.)
As for the Miroslav choir, no, I ran out of time. I didn\'t even get over to the EastWest booth to hear Nick\'s stuff (says Pat with head held low in shame). I ended up taking a bunch of pictures for a friend who couldn\'t come to the show. I\'ve got a nice shot of a \"bottle organ\"! http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif

P.S. Donnie, you know we\'re just ribbing you, right?

Great news, Dan!
Will there be a \'sonic\' relation with the DDSB instruments? Or is this project entirely clean/new with respect to room, instruments, players, mikes, etc.
For example, if you go from two DDSB trumpets playing a third interval to a unison DDBE note, will it sound radically different?
I can image that an essemble library typically is presented with more room than your solo brass samples, but this would make it trickier to integrate both sets.
Cheers,
Peter

Acrtually, I had no idea it was at the BF booth, but would have asked Donnie, just because I know that he\'s worked with Dan before, and might possibly still be working with him http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif
too bad I was in such a rush. I felt bad not being able to talk to Donnie for long. Kinda felt like a Jerk. \"Hey Donnie, Wahts up?! yah sure let me buy LOP, cool See ya!\" Thats not how I want to coe off http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

I think King Idiot, PatS and I didn\'t ask about the brass because we spent to much time discussing our up and coming out Fart libraries!!

It\'s a shame Dan did not see the opportunities for a DDSF library!
More seriously, King, and other Namm-visitors, can we now safely conclude that the rumours on Dan doing work with a symphony orchestra are actually about the Ensemble Brass library?
Cheers,
Peter
