This video is a great example of what can be done with rock when using orchestral instruments and synth samples. Sort Sol is a Danish pioneering rock band and Sissel Kyrkjebø is a crossover classical artist.

Nice song, and a great sound.
Still, I can't help but think that the orchestra was used as a high-end synth pad. I kept waiting for somebody (other than voice and lead guitar) play a melody or counter melody.
Back in 1977, I saw Emerson, Lake and Palmer perform with an orchestra at the Long Beach Arena.
Here they are in Montreal:

Many of the recordings in Montreal go the other way: ELP plays rock adaptations of Mussorgsky, Copland and Prokofiev with orchestra.

Any other videos of rock bands with orchestras?

I found this video by a female Turkish rock artist. It's pretty wild!
