I will be demoing Quantum Leap libraries at NAMM and I am looking for examples of the brass, voices, or Rare Instruments being used prominantly in a TV show, film, video game etc. If anyone can supply me with something like this, I will gladly give you a copy of Voices of the Apocalypse 2, or one of my existing libraries.

I would be glad to compose for you (and recieve VOTA2 too , because those libraries are out of my budget) , but I have only xSample clarinets now....so I can\'t send you a full MP3 with your libraries , unless I compose and send you a MIDI file... I wish you best of luck.
I\'m leaving today for my chalet and will be back on January 3rd.
I wish you a happy New Year!

Speaking of VOTA2, what\'s gonna be in it? I\'d love to have some good solo voices, if at all possible. There\'s times when a choir isn\'t necessary, I\'d just like a good 4 octave male and female voice with the same quality of VOTA. http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

Do you mean you want footage of the material its being used in, or a copy of it? Or do you want the song/music.

Hey Nick,
I might have a really short piece (30 secs) I did for a (would you believe it) Gameboy Advanced game. It\'s rather zany so it might not fit your style, and it was done in a rather short time (half a day), but if you like it I might be able to beef it up a little.
Cheers,
Joris de Man
Ps: forgot to add that it was done with QL Brass, among some other things.

Hi Nick:
I just completed a CD that is being marketed to Churches for missions and other conference activities. It has been selling for about a month. It has a piece called \"Fanfare to the Nations\" that takes you through various countries woven with bits and pieces of time-honored missionary hymns. I made HEAVY use of rare instruments and QL Brass. It also uses Advanced Orch, Ult. Strings, and many more libraries. The fanfare piece is about 10 minutes.
Would you like a copy??

Nick, while there\'s no standalone video footage, feel free to show \"Empire Earth\", a Windows strategy game published by Sierra Studios. The music in the installer and menu screens features QL Brass prominently.
Hope this helps,

Nick-
I have a :30 commercial for Secret antipersperant that makes heavy use of VOA. I have several cues from a feature film that feature QLB. Let me know if you\'d like them.

How on earth can you fellas afford these sample libraries? I mean, do you all have jobs on the side, or what? I\'m sixteen years of age, and I simply cannot afford these libraries. Incredible.

A_sapp, I think you answered your own question. Some have jobs, some make their livings as composers. Myself, I am a video-editor on TV/cinema-commercials and do some music on the side.

I\'ve also got some cues that feature the sax sections.

Just curious really, do you guys get paid from the sample developer if they use your submitted demos that will be used to sell their products? And if it\'s from an existing song already published isn\'t there the performance royalty thing? Again, just curious. http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

most sample developers create their own demos.
Eveery so often they\'ll ask for a demo in exchange for a library from people they know/like
Also some developers will pay composers as
\"work for hire\" to do a piece using materials they ask for
Every so often someone will offer a demo up to share for free on a CD, in hopes for exposure.
Work for hire is bery popular in many areas the entertainment media arena. Many people dont get performance royaltiesw anymore. just a one time fee.
Raoyalties are , I would figureuto be, uncommon for demos of sample libraries....if not nonexistent.

\"I think I\'ve found a sample type that I get too excited about...choirs.... not sure why but I get all Kid in a Candy store for some reason.\"
lol, same here, King. Perhaps it\'s partly because I don\'t have any choir whatsoever. Hopefully that\'ll change very very soon. http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif
And I\'m sorry Nick, but I gotta ask ONE question about VotA 2: Howsabout an estimated release date? Obviously, things get moved around all the time (110% understandable), but are we looking at a long time from now, like summer, or closer, like spring?

Lance,
I dont want to put words in Nick\'s mouth, but he mentioned in a few monthws. So I would expect under a year. Possibly even 6 or so months http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif
I\'m telling you. I didn\'t even NEED Voices, I just wanted it! the expressive vibrato in VotA is the best. I need to take a break and jsut work on music using the new libraries I have. I haven\'t even used DD SW in a single piece...but thats because (even tho I\'m a horrid string arranger) I know squat about woodwind arranging.

VotA 2 release date? I\'m not sure. I keep wanting to do more. The problem is that you could fill 5 disks with just one choir, if you want to cover everything. VotA 2 will have 4 or more choirs. Definitely by summertime. I won\'t be showing anything from VotA 2 at NAMM.
