Help!
I have been unable to install Gigasampler in my computer. At first I was using an AWE64 on my system (AMDK6 233MHZ, 96 RAM)
But I have recently purchased a Dakota/Tango24 system and still it won\'t install and boot up!
I would greatly appreciate any comments, suggestions.
Thanks
Fred

What are the symptoms? Does the install not complete? Or does GS not run after installing? Give a step by step account of what you are doing so we can narrow down the problem.

Killerbobjr: Actually GS does install, but it does not boot-up when I try to run it It gives me the following message: \"this program has performed and illegal operation and it will shut down\" and if I open the Details button it has the following;

GS caused an invalid page fault in
module EWCTL32.DLL at 0177:1000389e.

It will load and boot on my computer at work and it actually has less memory than my computer!
Hope this helps
Thanks

Try searching your system for other copies of EWCTL32.DLL. Make sure that the one with the newest date is in your \\Windows\\System folder.

Hi there

Just for your Information

EWCTL32.DLL

is not a WIN-System DynamicLinkLibrary

It is the EW (EndlessWave) Driver of your GigaSampler.
So I think you will not find a newer Version
than the one with the latest GS-installation.

I agree with Bill. If you have mixed up versions (say between GS LE and GS full) it may be causing problems. Also, I\'ve had problems before with the AWE64 and GS. Remove the AWE64 and all the drivers installed for it, then completely uninstall GS, making sure EWCTL32.DLL no longer resides on your hard drive. Also make sure your Dakota/Tango is not sharing its IRQ with other cards. You may have to move the card to another slot, or turn off Plug\'N\'Play in the BIOS and assign IRQ\'s individually. Reboot your machine after making these changes, then reinstall GS and reboot after the install completes. Hopefully, this will fix things. If not, you\'ll have to call Nemesys tech support and have them help you track this down. :-(

OK I\'m going to purge and cleand the computer\'s files and try the manual IRQ and hope that it does the trick..

Thanks again

First.. I would like to thank all of you that e-mailed with your suggestions.

Now for the good news! I was able to install and load my Gigasampler!!
It all had to do with some garbage that somehow got attached to my system.ini file (the garbage was at the very beggining of the file itself).
After I deleted the stuff I did a re-boot and my Gigasampler worked.
Thanks again.
