that\'s so great! I gave it a first try yesterday, and it works well...there are som many things you can do with controllers though... it will take time to use this library at his full potential...

I\'ve got some questions :

Are there more comprehensive documentation about the gig files? For now, I only have the controller/patch information ... unless there are other files on the CD... but can I crossfade? if so, how?
BTW, I never knew key-switching, and I found it yesterday....that\'s really great!

Another thing : is there a way in Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 to show the Giga instrument names loaded instead of \"Grand Piano\" on channel 1, where I loaded my clarinet? If it\'s not possible in this version, is it possible in Cakewalk SONAR?

I have the complete series of XSample
and is very found of almost all of the instruments.

As for patch names there is a way to show
Giga names in Cakewalk 8.0 ( I suspect it won\'t be that different in CW 9.0)
- Here\'s a quick walktrough:

1. Choose menu Tools->Instruments

2. In the popup window \'Assign
Instruments\', choose the \'Define\' button.

3. In the left windowpane(instruments) you
right click and choose \'New instrument\'
and name it, eg. Gigastudio 1.
This will be not your new clarinet, but
rather your sampler.

4. In the right windowpane(patch names, note
names etc.) Right click and create a
\'New Patch Name List\'. This will be your
new instrument list.

5. Right click on your Patch name list and
choose \'Add Patch Name\' - This will prompt
you for banknumber and name for the first
entry.

6. Add as many (up to 128) names to your
list as you need.
Caution!
To enter the following entries you have
to right click the latest entry and
choose \'New Name\'. You can\'t just repeat
step 5.

7. When all needed patch names has been
defined, drag the patch list itself
to the left windowpane to your previously
defined instrument.

8. Close the window and return to the
\'Assign Instruments\' window.

9. Assign the desired port/channel to your
new instrument (Gigastudio 1)

10.Mark the \'Save Changes for next session\'
and click OK.

Hope it helps your out.

What you don\'t wan\'t though, is using
crossfaded velocity layers on solo instruments. The problem is that at any given point in your crossfade, except for the zero- or 127 controller position, you get to samples sounding at once,
which completely destroys the illusion of a solo instrument.
