free gig files: still need registration key...

Question:

Starting off with GS I just downloaded a bunch of \'free\' gig & wav files from several websites, but after trying to import them in GS I get the message about registering the files I want to use...

Is this a normal procedure?
the files itself do not give any information on where/how to get such a key...

(have to state that I used Awave to convert the wav files to gig format)

Read the documentation in Awave. It explains this shortcoming in the program and how to get around it using the GS editor.
