Hello, Nick,
I’m among those who are quite interested and awaiting the release of your QL 56 Strat… You said in a previous thead that it will be distributed by \"East West\"…
So I searched the Web for a « East West » site in order to see how to order, price and so on, but found none…
So would you be so kind to tell where it’s possible to check for your Strat pack ?
Thanks a lot !

Nick,
It appears is taking orders for this library now and is asking $299.95. (I thought the list price was $299.95, no discounts?)
In any event, they mention it will be shipping the 12th of this month. Do you plan on doing any demos for this library? I would think these would already be up somewhere?
Do you have a home page where one can learn more about the QL series? Updates, info, etc.
Thanks.

Yes, Nick,
we would like to know MORE now...
I\'m the one who started this QL Strat topic, and have awaited a reply from you for weeks, totally in vain...
Hope that things are going to take some speed now.

\"Do you have a home page where one can learn more about the QL series? Updates, info, etc.\"
Where does one log on to learn more about the Quantum Leap products? Isn\'t there a home page somewhere for support, updates, info, etc. ???

Sorry, I didn\'t reply. The strat library will be at EAST WEST in about a week. The demo will be ready before that. The day the library shows up, all the info will appear on .com.

Hey guys, Nick\'s probably not employing a staff the size of Media Ventures, so everything he\'s doing is kind of cottage industry, which may even keep the prices down, but it means one thing at a time.
He\'s only just finished the VOA demo. I\'m sure it won\'t be long until he\'s done with a few strat ones.
At least he should be happy with the feverish anticipation http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif
What kind of guitar sounds/types does this library have? Only clean guitar, or do we also get fat distorted guitar sounds? Think heavy, (metallica sound)

Its a 56 Strat.... I believe through a Fender Twin.
You wont get \"metallica\" sound out of that. But you\'ll get some great bluesy toes, and if there are some overdiven tones. I\'d expect some good tones. But again... not not a thick crunch sound.
Yuo can \"re-amp\" the soudn through a POD or Jstatio...but I still would expect it to be fairly \"glassy\" since its single coils on the strat and not umbuckers.

\"voice overs\"?? Just give me a few strums, leads, chord structures, unprocessed and processed. That\'s all I need in order to decide to buy or not.
KingIdiot
11-13-2001, 03:43 PM
for you maybe Munsie,
but for alot of people they don know what samples are being played if they are strums, single notes sepertely processed or processed before. Voice overs help these people out. how about sending the demo to Munsie without VO\'s Nick. He\'s been a tad anxious about the library.
BTW I like the VotA demo http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif thx!

The strat demo music is done, but it needs voice over to make sense of it. Its being done tomorrow.

Hello Kingidiot,
Yes you are correct, voice overs can be important, especially if it is a long demo. I was hoping for various small demos of processed and unprocessed sounds. But it looks like he\'s just making the one long demo that will be streamed from the website. My fingers continue to be crossed for this library.

11-14-2001, 01:38 AM
Yes Munsie,
we all keep fingers crossed, hoping that this library will be a winner...
But it\'s also true to say that waiting and waiting makes it hard on our nerves... Sounsdonline once promised me the QL56 cds for november 6th, then they stated on their site it would be on 12th... then no date any more : I emailed them two days ago to get fresh news, and they did not even reply !
The more we have to wait, the best this library has to be, or we\'ll be quite disapointed !
Being a guitar-addicted keyboardist is not easy everyday.
I ordered the Vintaudio clean guitars cd-pack, and will let you know what I think of them in real life as soon as possible !

I ordered the library a week ago - hope it will turn up tomeorrow on my 37 years birthday. http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif
I hope I can use this library on my next demoes until I make my own guitar-library late next year.
I like Nick\'s recent stuff and have used Quantum Leap Brass on one of my demoes. (J-Slap - demosong 4)Very cool.

Hello, Scarbee,
speaking of things a little late to come (nothing sexual), I also was after your fingered bass, and still am...
\'seems to me that you had mentioned october as a release date, many weeks ago !
So I had to order the yellow tools \"pure basses\" in the meantime to fill in my good bass Gigabass needs...
this does not mean that I won\'t buy your bass cd anymore, but now this will have to wait for my bank account to recover from my last purchases !!

Hi sirbellog:
Thanks. Too bad about the delay... http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif
Let\'s hope it will come out soon...
In the meantime enjoy your yellowtools library - it sounds fine to me.

Hi Sirbellog,
According to \"Vintaudio\" I was their first customer! I still havn\'t recieved the disk though. http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif
It\'s amazing, you can order the QL Strat for $300.00 but you can\'t listen to a demo yet.
This reminds me when video game publishers don\'t send review copies to magazines when they know the game is bad. However, knowing Nick\'s other products I\'m giving him the benefit of the doubt.
The waiting is ok, I just don\'t like it when a sample developer says \"this will be available on such and such a date\" be it a demo or the actual package, and then miss the date. Projects go on hold, purchases go on hold, etc. Not nice...
I think \"Vintaudio\" did a pretty cool thing by not even mentioning the library until it was ready to go live. I can see an initial press release at the start of the development phase and then maybe a press release as the library gets closer to being done, but don\'t advertise the damn thing until it\'s ready to go!
You\'ll enjoy the Yellowtools E-Bass until Tascam gets their !@#$ together and releases the l o n g waited J-Fingered. Have you downloaded the J-Fingered help file from Scarbee\'s website? Oh boy....
Scarbee,
Happy birthday! Looks like I\'ll make it to \"40\" before you by 1 year. http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

The library still hasn\'t shipped. They now tell me Monday. The demo will be out before that.

Hi Munsie,
so we are at least two waiting for the Vintaudio cds, I have not received them yet either ! (and I still am wating for the yellow basses also, as a matter of fact !)
As for the announcements long before the real thing is out, we should be used to that by now... synths, softs, samples... it seems that this kind of strategy rules eveywhere...
I can understand the reasons behind that, but truely it\'s sometimes really bad for our nerves and sleep !

gilles

\"The library still hasn\'t shipped. They now tell me Monday. The demo will be out before that.\"
Nope, don\'t think so...
Posted on www..com: (\"http://www..com:\")
\"This item will be shipping the week of November 26, 2001- Order your copy today!!\"
Why would I send them $300.00 before the 26th? I don\'t think anyone is going to order this thing until we hear a demo first.
ZZZzzzz....

I totally agree with you, Munsie !
Let\'s wait for the real thing to be out, and for us to get a chance to hear it before...
------
What the hell are they doing at , Nick ??
You tolds us many weeks ago that your strat was ready, and the only thing left to do was the cover of the cd !
Is it so difficult to make cds in 2002 ??
And we are still expecting your demo.....
Please !

\"It May be out of his hands.\" - AGREED.
However, frustration amounts when a developer states that a demo will be available at a certain date and then the demo does not show up. Personally I could care less when the actual thing starts to ship. I care MORE about hearing the damn thing as soon as possible so I can decide what else NOT to purchase. Good things (like Scarbee\'s fingered) are worth waiting for, and Nicks QL Strat may be worth waiting for as well. BUT I find it hard to believe why a demo could not have been done a while back to generate interest in the product. Almost EVERY other recent developer advertising product in THIS forum, backs up their ads with demos, usually BEFORE the thing ships.
Vintaudio has taken a very professional attitude by not even mentioning his product on this forum until the demos and product were ready to go. (I\'ve been playing with his libraries for a few days now, more later.) I can only speak for myself, but I am VERY impulsive. When I hear about a product and I read about a date when it will be available, I\'m like a kid in a candy store. I want more info and possibly want to buy it right away! http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif
But give him a break for making us excited about a product and then not to deliver at least a demo to hold us over, AFTER he has announced a date when the demo would be ready? I don\'t think so....
KingIdiot
11-20-2001, 06:58 AM
Munsie...
have you tried E-mailing him for a demo?
The reason I say give him a break is because. He only said the demo would be done and e did state that the day it shows up is when all the info (I\'m guessing the demo as well) would show up. This means its up to to get the demo up if its already done. Not Nick. Maybe I feel bad because I look at Nick as one of the guys out here that offers info and only pitches once or twice in their own threads, not like a few guys who are out here ONLY pitching their libraries. Any other talk of his librares are answers to questions posted.
I dont think that he ever promised that the demo would be up by a certain date. Did he? He only gave info that /EastWest gave him. If you\'ve got a gripe gripe with Soudnsonline.
BTW I have a feeling the library will be pretty good, but will take a lot of programming to get realistic performances out of. I also think that the vitn audio stuff may be a better bang for the buck sine most people wont want to get into the programming.
Also about the price. I\'d suggest waiting till does their Xmas promotion, which might give you a percentage off itha promotional code. The thankgiving one sucks..its only free shipping. I was waiting for this oe to gt VotA...and 10 bucks off wasn\'t what I was hoping for....So I have a Gripe with Soundsonlinea already. http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif

When Nick first mentioned his product I was REALLY excited, but now with Vintaudio\'s package available, Pure E-Guitars (yellowtools) coming soon, and some others down the pipe. I\'m not so impulsive for this product. So, hopefully Nick will get his product out soon and have a good demo available. No reason to hurry.....anymore.

Yes, Munsie, that\'s right,
waiting and waiting again make us tired in the end...
and about the Vintaudio Guitars, I judge them quite fine, good enough in any case to help the sampled-guitar-seekers find their sleep again for a while.... maybe not as thorough as the QL Strat is (supposed to be), but at least these guitars are three, not one, and three which are very playable for melodies, arpeggios and choruses(strumming and chords are their only weak point IMO).
And as far as is concerned, they apparently reply to customers\' inquiries only when they please to do so !
So I guess that I won\'t rush any longer into the QL Strat as fast as I intended to do.
Any more info about the Pure Guitars ? (I purchased the Pure Basses, and my first feeling is a positive one)

Sirbellog,
Hello! Since the topic is starting to focus more towards general guitar samples then just Nick\'s library I have continued this discussion in a new topic. See you there!

Sorry to piss people off, but I\'m doing the best I can. QL 56 Strat is now available. I encourage you to wait for the demo. It will be soon, I\'m just swamped. Check .com in a few days.

Nick,
I am a current QL Guitar and Bass user so your new library obviously interests me. I do find it kind of strange that during the course of your guitar library development you didn\'t just do some jams, leads, or whatever that could turn into quick demos. I remember in previous messages you stated it would be good for flowing leads, realistic strumming etc, you didn\'t make ANY demos of these claims? One thing you should probably do is add to the .com blurb that the \"power chords\" in the library is taken from your previous guitar package. I would have hoped to have new power chords. I assume your sampling skills have increased since then, dramatically.
To really sell this library you\'re going to need seprate demos of processed and unprocessed leads, strums, chords, etc. I would hope after taking so long to create the library you would go out of your way to support the potential buyer with robust demos that fully demonstrate the power of this library.
Looking forward to the demos.
p.s. We\'re not pissed off, we\'re excited as hell you did this library! We\'re just hoping it\'s a winner!!
