Can someone please provide me with a copy of this file. gpofull2instrument.txt
I have it on my desktop computer but the video card stopped working and I can not access any of my files until it can be replaced. I am trying to set up my laptop to continue working while the desktop is down.
I know this file is amoung some ancient post somewhere, but that would be quite a dig, hehehe.

Good find, Raymond! - Samantha, did you use that link? At the bottom you can get that text file you needed, and the others needed for Finale in case you're missing those also - That should set you up on your laptop.

Hi Samantha,
I was about to go out and saw your message.
I have uploaded a copy of gpofull2instrument.txt to this location (http://www.profoundinfo.com/Music/Samantha) - simply click on the hyperlink in the directory listed and then save the file as text.

It's just a text file, Samantha, so you can just save it to your desktop and then put in the finale folder--as it says in the instructions on the site Raymond posted. Copy and paste it in notepad works too.

Hello Samantha,
What I think is happening is that you are possibly left clicking on the file to download. This just opens the file in another window or tab. Go to the link on the Finale Site then scroll down to the bottom of the page. The download text files are listed there under the heading 'File Attachments'.
http://makemusic.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/644
To download the file, just right click on the link then select 'Save Link As'. You will then be asked where you want to save the file on your computer. You could save the file directly into your Finale VST folder:
C:\Program Files\Finale 2010\FinaleVST
Hope this helps. :)

Sorry, fellows, I tried all that long before I made my post. That is not a downloadable file. To right click on it does not provide a option to download or even copy that file. There is an actual file for this that is downloadable. I have it on my desktop, but the video card has blown. When I can afford to replace the video card I will uploade it and e-mail it to myself. Thanks for all the suggestions and offers of help.

My dear Samantha,
You need to highlight the document, either by right clicking and asking to select all, or by clicking Ctrl + A on your keyboard, and then copying the document - also a right click option or Ctrl + C, and pasting that into Notepad. Save that either directly into the Finale folder, or elsewhere--either way as a .txt document.
That's all it is. If it's in the Finale folder where it needs to be - that's all there really is to it. It's a tiny file, nothing big to download, no complicated installation.
Even if you feel you've tried it all before, please try it again. It's a straight forward thing that could have you up and running again in moments.

Just another thought.
On the Finale link:
http://makemusic.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/644
There is the main table grid with the library name in the left hand fields and the file headings in the right hand fields.
These are not the download files; these are just listing the text files available. If we click on any of these we will not have any download options which is what you describe you are getting.
The actual download files are below the table mentioned above under the heading 'File Attachments'. These download files are in a smaller blue font and are underlined. It is on these download files that you need to right-click then select 'Save-As'.
It may be the case that you have already tried these also but I thought I would just mention it.
I would quite happily provide a screen shot of the download links but I don't think we are permitted to do this.
Hope this helps. :)

Yes, thank you so much, but I did read all the information and I had actually visited the Finale site before I posted my thread. Unfortunately, those file do not have an option to download or save the file to my desktop. Hehehehe, I tried to the point of frustrtation several times. Unless I am missing a step here, or fully misunderstanding something.

In the area of the page described by Michael, underneath the table:
http://rbowser.tripod.com/txt-file-finale.jpg
Click on that. It opens up. Click "File" in your browser tool bar, click "Save As" - put it where you need in your Finale folder.
Ta da.

Yeeeeah, that's me. :samurai:
I just didn't think there'd be any problem doing the screen shot since you can't actually even tell where it's from.
Hopefully Samantha has it working now----I hope--

This is exactly the very site and page i visted. I tried severl time, even before i posted. For some reason it will not allow me to get an option to copy or download when I right-click on it. The only option is to make a shortcut to my desktop which woul just bring me back to that website and page.

YAAAAAAAaaaaah! When I got the auto email this morning for this thread, when you still hadn't gotten the .txt file, I ran here to find your email address and send it to you directly - should've thought to do that before.
I'm glad you were rescued! For future reference, if you don't see a "Save As" choice when you right click on a document like that, you can use "File" in your browser and it has the "Save As" function.
Now, enjoy your time with Finale on your laptop!
