Good Morning all,

I would like to ask how you typically set up your MIDI panning for scoring/orchestral work.

0 - 64 - 127 per instrument or group of.

Thanks.
Have a great holiday weekend.

1st violins hard left(0/1)
2nd violins about 40
violas 75-80
cellos 110-120
Basses around 90 (but I also try and mix them differently)

Brass is all dependant on what I\'m trying to acomplish. Somtimes I like it with a smaller stereo spread and closer to the middle, for a more even sound, sometimes I split instruments hard left/right and double the parts for the HUGE sound.

Actually I\'ll even do that with strings sometimes, or put another cello setion on the left to even out the bass. If I\'m going for \"Traditional\" sund then I use standard orchestral instrument placing. If I want a big sound, I listen to Media ventures stuff and jsut forget about tradition http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

Hey King,

By the way, I agree with alot of what you were saying about AO brass. I have AO complete giga for about a week now and I am very happy with most of the brass (piccolo trumpet is awesome) and ALL of the woodwinds.

I plan to get DD solo strings to use as a blend with AO & US. (Ultimate Strings, to me is still a favorite even though it\'s a bit synthy)

Back to AO. I also think that the CD insert booklets are very helpful.

Cya
