Wow! Damn! Can\'t wait for it to be released! I especially liked the snares -- they had a real nice, soft delicate feel to them, not harsh like most other snares I\'ve heard.

Thanks J,

Thanks for pointing out that the first demo was just dry midi! I forgot to mention that. It sounds even better with the Altiverb. I am going to have to get that!

Donnie,

Is this demo sounds from UOP or>?

Thanks

PS. By the way, I have AO Complete Giga
coming this week. I felt it was the better
choice for me. Plus I had that killer discount http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

Sounds REALLY natural Donnie. Great dynamics, even without the Altiverb. (That was a very nice thing to do Jamey)

Wowie! Sounds fantastic. Is there a place where we can see a list of instrument?

The list is REALLY huge....

I\'ll try to post one tom.

Also Sean is working on a really cool interactive help file that will give you very detailed info as well as pictures of everything! Should be very cool

Great sounds. Great composition! I like it better without the verb.

Bob,

Thanks for the kind words. It should be released in about 4-6 weeks. The library is done and now we are just finishing up the artwork and such.

If anyone would like to hear anything in particular or a particular orchestral excerpt with these samples just let me know. I would be happy to put something together.

Awesome, awesome, awesome...(did I mention awesome? http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif
Great job, you guys. I ran your demo through Altiverb and posted the results here:
http://www.DramaticAudio.com/audio/Percussion_Altiverb.mp3 (\"http://www.DramaticAudio.com/audio/Percussion_Altiverb.mp3\")

Again, this is a recompressed, MP3 file so the quality is junky compared to what I\'m listening to, but I think this file puts DSSoundware in its\' place quite nicely http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

Hey Donnie,

Sounds you got a lot of samples in that demo, all sounding good as well! Cool. I\'m looking forward to seeing that list. I DO here some slight machine gun 1-sample triggering with the timpani (at 0:03) and a little with the different blocks from 0:25 on. Nothing serious, since these are REALLY fast passages, but it makes me wonder if you\'ve done seperate left and right hits (or perhaps more) on those samples.

Are there any fielddrums and orchestral toms on the new lib? Or any sampled snare ensembles perhaps (like on your brass band perc. lib)? If so, I would be really interested in hearing some demo\'ing with that particular percussion.

Good luck (finishing up the artwork!),

Maarten

Maarten,

Thanks for the comments. Not really sure how you were hearing any \"machine gun\" effect though. Everything in the library is left and right hand samples and the woodblocks in particular have 8 velocities. Also if you will check the midi file there are no two same samples sounding in succession thus making it impossible for a repeated or \"machine gun\" effect. Sorry http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

Donnie: hmmm. It could also be too much quantizing in the woodblock parts. Never mind, though, the sounds are good!

Now what about the fielddrums, orchestral toms and snare ensembles?

Btw, your \"Cadence\" demo from the Marching Battery Percussion on the DSSoundware site REALLY ROCKS! I\'m quite an Danny Elfman-fan, so I really like playing around with percussive sounds and accents. I\'m not 100% sure everything in the Cadence demo would be really playable, but this sampled version sure sounds cool! This is great material for creating original drum and percussion loops, even in the filmic genre. (Price is good too!)

Maarten,

Yes there are field drums, snare sections, and orch toms.

Also an interesting side note is that the cadence that you are referring to is acutally for a high school drum line! Sean wrote that for this high school line which is very good.....of course the line I work with is better though http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

Yes, it\'s playable. Like donnie said, it is last year\'s cadence for my high school line. Donnie wanted to use it because he was having trouble coming up with one of his own but I had to refuse, knowing the frustration that his guys would have had trying to work it up. You just don\'t do that to high school kids. It could have scarred them for life. I told him he could send them to me for lessons but I think it embarrassed him. http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

Hi Donnie. Nice samples.

I would like to hear a demo of the snare section and the orch. toms.

Oh boy, my partner in crime is back on the board!!! http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

We have a good time each year competing with each other at area contests. It\'s really a lot of fun. Of course he\'s already talking trash about how his line is going to whip mine but everyone knows that his line couldn\'t whip milk with an outboard motor! http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

Ok now I am REALLY exited!!!!

Think of this guys
A piece that includes orchestral percussion, marching percussion, pipe organ church bells, full orchestra, AND choir!!!!! Wow, the possibilities!!!!!!!!! Now if we could only have some decent choir samples my dream could come to reality!!!!!!

Ok back on earth now....
