I am getting ready to set up a giga machine and am trying to get my libraries ready and i need help. I am trying to get files off of my akai cd\'s onto my pc so I can convert the files into giga format. For some reason I can\'t read the cd. Is this my computer or is there some other way to get files from an akai cd to the computer?

You have to convert the Akai discs using a translator program such as the SConverter that\'s part of GigaStudio or third party translators such as CDxtract or Translator Pro.

As well, you should be aware that not all CDROM drives can read Akai format discs.

Thanks. Ok, do you know if this works for Kurzweil cd\'s?

SConverter only does Akai. CDxtrack doesn\'t do Kurzweil, Translater Pro apparently does. I should warn you though that some Kurzweil discs are not readable by Windows.

For more info check out www.cdxtract.com (\"http://www.cdxtract.com\") and www.chickensys.com (\"http://www.chickensys.com\")

This is good info, thanks alot man. Hey, still can\'t wait to hear some of your Giga stuff so let me know. One more question, is there anyway to extract the samples/programs from a sysx dump file?
