My wife just now sent this to me from her office - It's too fun, gotta share.

FOR THOSE TIMES WHEN YOU GET STUCK WITHOUT A CORKSCREW!!!!!


How to open a bottle of wine with a shoe. Just watch.....you don't need to understand French.

Clever! A gentleman who was living on the street shared another method with some friends and I a few years back (albiet less glamorous/sanitary). His technique was to find a stick, and simply push the cork into the bottle. Of course, if one wanted to re-seal the bottle in a straightforward way, then an extra cork or some duct tape would need to be found.

Ha! Now the stick method I've used myself - Not quite as elegant as the shoe trick. This is like magic. I wonder if you have to find a shoe like in the vid? Looks like some expensive footwear! :o

There is a video on YouTube of a guy doing this by hitting the end of the bottle against a tree trunk - no shoe. He wraps the bottle in a towel (in case it breaks, I think):
