I made the mistake of ordering my copy from this site and now I\'m the last kid on the block with GStudio http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif
I got a notice about a week ago saying that it would ship in 2 days (next day air). I\'m starting to get impatient!!!!
Should I cancel my order with NS and buy it from Nemesys?

I don\'t know if I\'d cancel my order with Northern Sounds. I placed my order with Nemesys weeks ago, my credit card has been charged, but I *still* haven\'t received GigaStudio...so, I think we\'re all in the same boat. http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif

Hi IO,

I don\'t know how Nemesys determined *who* would get the first copies of GigaStudio...I wish I knew. I\'ve been waiting weeks for mine to arrive. I kind\'ve suspect that they ran out of their first batch from the manufacturer and now they\'re having to wait for the 2nd batch for the rest of us. That\'s the only reason (that I can think of) that it would take so long.

But, like you, I am growing very impatient. I keep reading posts on this forum about how much people are enjoying their new *GigaStudio*...I just wish I had mine. http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif

I\'m inclined to cut them some slack too.

Still, charging peoples CCs (mine was charged back on the 12th) before shipping is poor business practice, and technically illegal.

I\'m not really too concerned about the people that are getting their product from Nemesys. We know that they\'ve got product. I actually started this thread hoping to hear from someone at Northern Sounds...who has already billed my credit card and who said that I would have GStudio in my hands over a week ago. PapaChalk??? Anyone??? I know you\'re reading this....please let us know when you\'ll be shipping our GStudio.

I\'m in the same boat Boomer. And I finally talked to Sean at Nemesys yesterday... they can\'t even find my order.

They can\'t tell me if it has been shipped or not. They can\'t tell me if they charged my credit card or not (although American Express tells me they have). They were supposed to call me back yesterday with this info, but no call yet.

Normally, this would really piss me off, but I think Nemesys was totally unprepared for their own success. So I\'ll cut them some slack. I\'ve been there, done that.

Hello IO Composer. We deeply apologize for the confusion. Due to a situation beyond our control we/I are/am also still waiting. From the time we sent out memos to everyone we were expecting to ship. Unfortunately this has not happened. Some errors have been made
in getting the product to us. We will commence shipping Immediately on its arrival.
we will make an announcement the second it hits our floor. As you can see in other post above this is not isolated to us only.
we/I deeply regret/apologize that this has happend.

Hey Cool7sDad,

I wouldn\'t take Nemesys at their \"word\". Just because they told you that it shipped, DOES NOT mean that it \"shipped\". I was told by Nemesys sales that my GigaStudio shipped earlier this week, I later found out that was a flat lie...it won\'t ship \'til next week!!

The only way to be certain if Nemesys really is telling you the truth about your copy of GigaStudio shipping is to get a tracking number. And if they try to give you some lame excuse about not having that information, I\'d get VERY suspicious.

I believe that Nemesys has produced an excellent product, but like you said in an earlier post, if they keep treating their customers like *CRAP*, it really doesn\'t amount to a hill-o-beans!!

....just a little forewarning about Nemesys\' \"professional\" customer relations.

Nemesys, why is it so hard to treat your customers with respect and professionalism????

Well, believe it or not, it *did* ship on Thursday. And I got it last night. The only problem is, when I register the thing on line, I get no return email. I\'ve been waiting 14 hours now for my registration key to \"unlock the software\" and there\'s been no response. Dear Northern Sounds: I also preordered from you and found my credit card billed as of April 25. On checking with Nemesys about delivery, they noted that this credit card charging is technically \"mail fraud\' in the U.S and is not intentionally done by them, and shouldn\'t have been done by you.

Presumably, Visa and Mastercard have long since paid you for these orders. If it were to turn out that you guys go out of business before shipping the product, somebody is out a lot of money.

I respectfully advise that you check with an accountant about your credit card practices, and that you pray that no customer complains to Visa/Mastercard.

I am very concerned now, when i read all these post about Visa, etc.

I myself was charged 17/5 and has not received anything yet, but that is not the worst thing...

In January, I purchased Gigasampler LE and then in march, I upgraded to the Full Gigasampler version.

I ordered the Gigastudio Upgrade 192 (as I have the full version), but from the order confirmation, I am only to receive Upgrade 96!

I have sent 4 emails to Nemesys (reply to order-confirmation) and have even sent my Full Gigasampler upgrade key + original order confirmation (Full gigasampler)

But I have not received any reply!
I believe I will receive something, but I hate to get the wrong update - return it - wait for a new version - and pay double to UPS... (I live in Denmark, Europa)

What is wrong? Is Nemesys server email-server down or what?

I like to see some announcement or at least an email.

It would be terrible if Nemesys was accused for fraud - this must not happen.

All companies (large or small) should ONLY charge your card when the item ACTUALLY ships. To do otherwise is not a proper way to conduct a business, IMHO, and will only result in unhappy customers.

Hi Kenn:

I did use the automated registration via the web. I did finally receive the email with the key code 14 hours after registering. I also received the NFX4 executable. Unfortunately, when I attempt to install it, it tells me that my GigaStudio installation is corrupt and that I should reinstall from a previous version. What??? Anyway, I\'m not dying for that effect, so for now I\'m happy.

For you others that have had trouble getting product, I suggest you *call* Nemesys at 877-NEMESYS. That\'s the sales line, not the support line, but it seems to be the only line an actual person answers.

As far as email, I must have sent three dozen e\'s to Nemesys over the course of the last three months. I\'ve yet to get a reply.

I must say I love the GigaStudio product. It has been worth the hassle. However, in working with it now for just over a day, I\'ve managed to find almost two-dozen bugs. Fortunately, none of them are show-stoppers, but I would hope that a maintenance release is forthcoming before too many months go by. After I\'ve worked with it some more, I\'ll post my bug list here. The most serious of these has to do with the installation of the NFX4 control. I know that they had a bad version of that early on, but I don\'t think they quite have it fixed yet.

I may as well join the club. I put some money down for Gigastudio 96 on April 26 from Steve\'s Music, in Ottawa, Canada. I\'m still waiting for the damn thing. I emailed the Nemesys International Sales Manager. In reply, he sent me their canadian distributor\'s phone number. The message goes on: \"We\'ve had a tremendous response for our product, but I know that our canadian distributor has it\". So, I called them, but, all I get is a voice message. Go figure...

I too orderd GigaStudio from Northern Sounds nearly 2 months ago. My Credit Card was charged IMMEDIATELY but so far no reply. This is illegal and when you live 5000 miles away in New Zealand not very reassuring. wait in hope.

I ordered my GigaStudio 160 upgrade when Nemesys announced it was shipping on their web site. I guess I\'m lucky cause they did not charge my card until it did finally ship last week, which I did receive.

Hmmm. James, that\'s interesting. It shouldn\'t take that long to ship a product from the States to New Zealand...unless they\'re shipping it by canoe!

Hello everyone, this is an announcement to let everyone know that all Pre ordered gigastudio upgrades have been shipped. Once again we apologize for the delay as stated before we took pre-orders based on the time We were supposed to get the product. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we did not receive the product at that time. However, as we have promised we have shipped the product out as soon as we received it.

I want to take a poll. Should we contact the Better Business Bureau and report Nemesys for charging our credit cards without shipping? I too have been given the run around. I called three times from my job to ask for a tracking number and was told that they were waiting on the tracking list to be produced and they had just sent out a massive shipment on the Friday prior to Memorial Day. I have not even received an email indicating that my bill was charged. From the sounds of some of the bugs discovered with GigaStudio thus far, I wish I had of thought twice. Afterall, the only reason I decided to upgrade was to be able to play soundfonts in addition to my akai format samples. You guys just give me the word and I will report this. Or if you guys just tell me to chill out, I will humbly wait for the next billion years + 14 hours to run my software. And to think, I was even dumb enough to purchase two sample CDs on top of this.

NO... I sure am annoyed by the lack of communication, but I don\'t think Nemesys have done anything to let us down by purpuse. Maybe Nemesys is \"drowning in succes\" and it would be sad if anyone put a feet on their hand. But I agree some information would be VERY nice - atleast an email.

But please don\'t hurt Nemesys for revenge, this way of acting makes the world a lesser beautyful place to live.

I wouldn\'t try to hurt Nemesys because of this. They are certainly not the only company that behaves this way. If they were out to just get our money, they\'d probably be long gone by now. They are trying to make a good product, and they are a small growing company.

It\'s not that I\'m satisfied about this whole thing. I wish it could have been handled better. I was one you who called (many times) asking for a tracking number for my order, but got no call back or email confirming my shippment; but my upgrade did finally show up. Hopefully Nemesys is reading this forum and can correct this issue for the next time.

I like this product and would hate to see it go away because the company had to shut their doors. Let\'s just let Nemesys know they need to COMMUNICATE with their clients.

Well, I over-reacted out of impatience. Nemesys has in fact communicated with me this morning. I talked to the head of the international sales. I don\'t want to say anything specific about what the problems are, but let\'s just say that in the world of supply/demand, there are alot of 3rd party players that handle the product prior to it getting to your front door. Any breakdown in this chain causes a dominoe affect naturally. In this case, Nemesys is NOT the weak link in the chain if you know what I mean. NOW, here\'s the BIG monkey wrench. If I gave any one of you two bundles of orders to fill (one for LARGE companies and another bundle for individual orders like you and I) and told you to operate on two separate threads of operation, keeping in mind that the BREAD-WINNERS have highest priority (that\'s only fair), and you meshed them all together in one bucket anyway, well you know tha rest. Total chaos!!!! I understand this a little more now since I was communicated with. To make a long story short, Nemesys is not the problem. I have seen it happen to companies many times. Don\'t worry, from the input that I received, they are just as P.O.ed as everyone here, and they emphasized that this will not happen in the future again.

So strike the poll. Let\'s fuel our energies into talking w/the folks that did receive it and see if they can make our lives easier for us, so we don\'t have to jump through the same Bugs, installation, and compatability hoops they did. You IN or YOU OUT?

I\'ll kick it off by asking anyone who has it, \"Has anyone used the soundfont functionality yet? Do the generators (e.g filters, envelopes, etc) map over okay? How does the soundfont sound when played directly via a SBLIVE vs the GigaStudio? Is there any considerable loss in quality of sound?\" Fire away

I received it yesterday, I\'m happy to say. I\'m going through PC upgrade hell right now, so I can\'t say how well it works, but at least it\'s here!!!
