Unfortunatly, no clues on just when we can get our hot little hands on the woodwinds.

I\'m sorry, this has probably been asked 10 times here, but is there a homepage for Dan Deans libraries where you can order etc?

Greetings,
We\'re in final beta with the Woodwinds and will be showing them at NAMM in a couple of days. We have an excellent group for the testing, so I\'d guess that we\'ll be done and ready to go to replication in a few weeks. I have to find a spot for 10,000 disks somewhere around here...not a pleasing thought to my wife.
When the DDSWW is ready, I\'ll let everyone know. They\'ll be available from Nemesys and from me via my website. It should be relatively soon.
Thanks for the interest.

High Dan Dean,
I\'m from Paris and I don\'t succeed in finding your Solo Strings Library. By whom is it distributed in France and where can I find it?
I\'m eager to put my hands on this one!
thanks

I\'m not sure who is handling European sales. Nemesys is the primary distributor for all my sounds, and I sell them direct as well. I could send you one if you wish. Thanks,
Dan Dean

Dan, when I order online I prefer ordering on a secure server, not sending VISA card numbers via email or unsecure servers. And your own page has no order form, does Nemesys\'?

Thanks for your reply Dan.
I will continue to ask for your library in my favortie store. When I give up, I\'ll let you know and I\'ll buy it directly from you.
bye

Hi Simon,
What I have been doing is taking checks or money orders and shipping via Priority Mail. If you\'re interested in my sounds and would like to purchase them from me, simply send me email and I\'ll get the process going. I\'ll cover the costs of shipping and handling via Priority Mail.
Thanks again,
Dan Dean

I appreciate that Dan, but the thing is that a money order will cost me something like 12$. And it\'s a lot of trouble filling out forms and so on - that\'s why I prefer VISA. Cheaper, and a hell of a lot easier. Another reason is I am always at work when the banks are open so I hardly have any opportunities to go to one.

Am I to understand that the cost of this library is in the neighborhood of $500.00 plus?
Does anyone share my feeling that this type of product, since the boom of the \"Giga User\" user, has become increasingly more costly to us.
Of course, I mean no disrespect to any of the sound designers on the market. I just feel that prices seem to be losing their competitiveness.
You think a 10 CD set for $550 is unreasonable? What planet are you from?

I was not aware that this was 10 CD set.
So, with that said. I retract.
Note: I see no reason for insults.

As you can see. There was no mention of 10 CD\'s. I do see, however 10 instruments.
And 10 *.gig files at $549.00 is a bit high.
I never said unreasonable.
Dan Dean Productions Releases \"Dan Dean Solo Woodwinds\" for
NemeSys\'s hard-disk based Giga-Technology.®
\"Dan Dean Solo Woodwinds\" for GigaSampler and GigaStudio sets new levels of excellence in playability and sound quality;
ANAHEIM, CA (January 18th, 2001) – Dan Dean, announces the release of his new \"Dan Dean Solo Woodwinds\" CD-ROM library for GigaSampler and GigaStudio today. Priced at $549 (US), this trend-setting library features chromatically/multi-sampled Bassoon, Contrabassoon, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Flute, Piccolo, Alto Flute, Bass Flute, Oboe and English Horn (Single instruments will also be available at $99.00 per instrument).
All of the instruments were recorded in stereo using our proprietary recording techniques and encoded with Apogee\'s UV-22 process. This ensures the integrity of the instrument\'s true sound is maintained throughout the recording, and final processing. Each and every note of all of the instruments has been chromatically sampled in up to 6 layers of dynamics (pp through ff) for realistic and accurate performances. Samples this detailed can only be created using the incredible power of Nemesys\'s Giga-Technology.
Most instruments include: basic legato non-vibrato, legato vibrato, portamento and staccato articulations. Revolutionary programming features, developed by Donnie Christian of DS Soundware, allow for longer legato attacks via mod wheel; mod wheel crossfading between pp to ff in real time; breath controller access to real time dynamics; mod wheel variable attacks of the staccato samples crossfaded to legato samples; Vibrato, Non-Vibrato, Portamento, and Staccato keyswitching; Non-Vibrato to Vibrato keyswitching and mod wheel; light versions of all the above; polyphonic aftertouch access to dynamic layers, and others. These extraordinary programming features, in conjunction with the highest quality sample recordings, give the keyboardist unprecedented and unparalleled control over performance variables that were previously unavailable. The result is a collection of the industry\'s finest woodwinds collection available, and it\'s only for GigaSampler and GigaStudio!

Back from the NAMM show. Thanks for the interest in the Solo Woodwinds! There was a lot of buzz at NAMM about them and a large number of people were really excited. We\'ll try and get through the final tweaks in the next few weeks and then go to replication.
The reason that 10 CD\'s was not included in the press release was based entirely on the fact that two of the instruments (the English Horn and the Flute) were too large to fit onto one disk. This would mean that I would have had to announce 12 and then reannounce 10 later. So for right now, figure 10...how\'s that for confusing. Anyway, we\'re all pretty pumped about the product. Donny Christian has done an incredible job with the programming.
Thanks,
Dan Dean
Dan. Sorry to ask you that, but: Have you read Nick Phoenix post to your mp3 topic??? He wasn\'t all too happy with the woodwinds... take a look and comment please!!!
