We need (I need) a GS manual for non techies. Something that will explain the difference between a \"lowpass\" and \"highpass\" filter, for example.
By the way, what is the difference?

It\'s very easy.
A low pass filter cut the high frequences and let the low through.
A high pass filter cut the low frequences and let the high through.

What about Nemesys organising (directly or indirectly) \"The GS University\", where one can learn more, better, ...
I\'m prepared to pay money for such a course.
(b/c I would save time and get to actualy play faster)
Maybe a video tutorial would be a good idea.

Would there be any interest in a \'Gigasampler for dummies\', I might write one.

I\'ll fess up: YES!
And if you could make it fit seamless with the Gigasampler Manual, following the same chapters, but explaining where what needs to br explained, lots of examples,
Also put it online and make it a work in collaborative work in progress.
It should be value add to your forum

Maybe part of the problem is that the synth/sampler industry still insists on using 40-year-old technical terminology - oscillators, envelopes, filters, etc. etc. Perhaps if the various functions were described in a more intuitive way, it would be easier to pick up these things. Not only do you have to be a composer and arranger to make music these days, you have to be a producer, recording engineer, CD mastering engineer, and electrical engineer to boot.
So c\'mon manufacturers. Call those lowpass/highpass filters \'tone controls\'. A rose by any other name...

If you want any help with this Worra, from a learner\'s standpoint, let me know. I\'ve got several suggestions. Starting with page 32 of the manual: \"Delete\" is wrong isn\'t it?
The main problem with most manuals is that they are written by experts, and they never get their work checked with a learner. Better to be written by a learner with the help of an expert?

Anyone in the Toronto area.. I\'ve spoken to Nemesys to the posibility of myself running a demo/tutorial session open to gigasampler owners and people who are curious about the software.. If you\'re in the Toronto area, let me know and maybe we can set something up. I also do private gigasampler tutorials and I\'m becoming the first \'Canadian\' Certified gigasystem builder.
