View Full Version : How do I make my Cymbal samples stay alive?

Hi folks, I\'ve used the patch editor to create a gig file with drum samples. Now when I for example use a 16th note in Cubase to play the cymbals, the sound gets cut off unless I stretch the note longer. Is there anyway to keep the note as a 16th but have the Cymbals play all the way through without getting cut off?

Thanks!

Set the cutoff in the GS editor to 2 sec\'s or longer. This way each note will not get cut off

Good question Alec!

Where is the cutoff in the GS editor? Can\'t seem to find it.

You\'re talking about the release time on the amplifier envelope - in case properties for that region.
Alternatively, leave it the same and extend the duration of the notes in the sequencer

I found it! It\'s in the Release(sec) located in the EG/LFO1 section. For drums, I\'d rather increase the Release time in the editor instead of extending the duration of the notes in the sequencer.

Thanks Chadwick & donnie.

No problem Alec.

I found out what it was when I decided to compare a drum kit for GStudio I downloaded last week with one I created. I noticed that the release times were different. So I lengthened the time on my snare, and BINGO!
