I cannot complete the registration process for gigastudio. I have installed gigastudio and gigapiano (disc 2) and can play it with gigastudio. But when I start gigastudio it writes:\" Your GigaPiano (disc 2) is required for the next step in the Registration Process. Please insert it into your CD-ROM drive now\". Now I do this and the program writes: \"Your GigaPiano (disc 2) was not found, if it is possible that your CD-ROM drive has not spun up, if you think this press the \"Back\" button and try again\". I try it again and again and get the same message. Can anybody help me?

Hi!

I suppose your CD-ROM works otherwise fine and the Gigapiano CD is readable(try to explore it from My Computer or Windows Explorer).

Doesn\'t the registration process give you the choice to browse directories (maybe by going forward instead of back). If yes, try to locate the CD-Drive manually. It looks like the GS searches for the file needed under different letter.

There are also some stories on this forum about corrupt Gigapiano CD\'s, but the problem seems to be with the installation, not the registration.

Well, good luck.

Hi ondrej,

thank you for your help.
The gigapiano CD is readable. The CD is not corrupt.
And I have no choice to browse the directory during the registration process.

Hi Ondrej,

thank you for your help!

My gigapiano is in fact readable and not corrupt.

I have no choice to browse the directory.

Hi!

I think you problem is similar to what was discussed previously. I had a similar problem - the problem miraculously disappeared after I attempted registration about 20 times. (the problem recurred when I had to re-install GSt. And again, it worked after I tried about 20 times!!!). Contact Nemesys and get a replacement GigaPiano CD, or you can keep trying and hope it works!!

Thank you for your help.
But I already have a replacement CD for Gigapiano! And I can play both Gigapiano CD\'s.

Hi Rudiger,

Ask NemeSys to give you a .reg file containing all your registration info. Then, all you have to do is run this file and your registration info will be copied into your Window\'s registry.

This will allow you to bypass the GigaPiano CD-check because GigaStudio will already \"think\" that it is registered!! http://www.northernsounds.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif

This seems (to me) to be the easiest solution to your problem...especially since you have already determined that your GigaPiano CD is *not* defective.

I have the exact same problem as described above. Only now I can\'t even get Gigastudio to start. It just asks for the second CD for registration and when it doesn\'t see it, it just shuts down. I have a project I\'m in the middle of that\'s due in a week. I\'m sunk. I haven\'t been able to get Nemesys to return my calls to tech and registration the last two days. I hope that they have a way to get me up and running again.

According to the proposal from Boomer I send NemeSys an e-mail. I hope they can help. If not I would like to get the help from Boomer.Thank you!

Cody:
I also had and have the case you describe (nothing works). In this case I re-install gigastudio (including the CD-ROM-key!!) and the program works.

Rudiger,
When I try to re-install gigastudio, it doesn\'t ask for the CD Key. How did you get it to ask for it again?

Cody,

When GigaStudio is 1st installed, it writes info to your windows registry. So, when you try to reinstall GigaStudio, it no longer needs to ask you for your CD-KEY because it can find that info in the registry (from the first time that you installed it).

If you want to start fresh, do the following:

1) uninstall GigaStudio
2) (Win98) Select START and run, then type \"regedit\"...this will open the registry editor.
3) Go to -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software
4) Select \"Nemesys\" and hit \'delete\'

This will remove all traces from your computer that GigaStudio was installed.

Now, when you re-install GigaStudio, it will ask you for your CD-KEY and registration info.

I hope this helps!

Same problem over here in Holland. Problem with disc 2 and when I click on Finish, the program crashes. Several mails to Nemesys, no reply. Applied for a new disc 2, no reply. Reinstalled GigaSampler, and was rather glad that at least that worked (I did not even have to re-register it).

I am very curious about what percentage of the upgraders cannot work with Gst and what amount of money Nemesys made on these people. What about a refund proposal from Nemesys? They are reading complaints like this, that\'s sure...

I also think that this a problem that should be solved. I can work with the (wonderful!) programm but it is a bit awkward (I mean: difficult) (because I have to re-install gigastudio from time to time).

I have send NemeSys an e-mail and asked for help but I got no answer.

But I got a new disc 2 from NemeSys when I thought that a \"corrupt\" disc 2 could be the cause of the problem (it was not the cause). I got the new disc very quick: only 4 or 5 days to Europe.

It would be of interest to hear whether (and how) Cody has solved his problem.

I now try to get help from Boomer (see his e-mail). I will send him an e-mail.
