I am trying to use Gigastudio with the Frontier Dakota Card. The problem is Gigastudio will not map through the Dakota card and will not recognize the Dakota card in the View/Settings/Hardware-Routing. When I run the Diagnostics test it recognizes the card but shows that it doesn\'t \"map\" through the card.

The Dakota works with other programs flawlessly and it also worked with Gigasampler 1.6. I have since done a fresh install of Win98se and have only loaded Gigastudio.

Here is part of the diagnostic read-out that seems to concern me:

GigaStudio kernel: Loaded!!!
GigaStudio driver: Has ENABLED kernel.
Status code: 1030000, GigaStudio is properly configured.
Hw. config.: Status = 1030000, Type = HWTYPE_DSOUNDIF, ID = CARDID_GENERIC
Fs hw = 44100, Fs eng = 44100, chan/Output = 2, bits/sample = 16
Testing driver mapping ...
User mode Drv S 1:2 Dakota, did NOT map.
User mode Drv A 1:2 Dakota, did NOT map.
User mode Drv A 3:4 Dakota, did NOT map.
User mode Drv A 5:6 Dakota, did NOT map.
User mode Drv A 7:8 Dakota, did NOT map.

User mode Drv B 3:4 Dakota, did NOT map.

User mode Drv B 7:8 Dakota, did NOT map.
GigaCompatible hardware:

Frontier Design Dakota : 16 outputs supportted.

Thanks

I don\'t know if this will help or not, but on my system (Dakota, GS, Reaktor, CW9), I\'ve found that if I have any other prog claiming out ports (namely, Reaktor using ASIO), those which are selected become unavailable in GS, and vice-versa.

According to frontier, while you CAN simultaneously use both GSIF and ASIO together, they cannot be applied on the same i/o.

Hope this helps,
Mattifer
