    Q for sample library producers

Is it normal to pay players royalties as well as sessional fees?

Re: Q for sample library producers

For the average library, a buy-out would be normal. If you pay your sample performers a good fee, that should do it, if you ask me. In most cases, it is true the samples could\'ve been performed by lots of performers, so their is no real \"personal loss\" involved.

I think the story is different when you\'re dealing with a sample performer who really gives away some of his/her sound, let\'s say, like a famous drummer performing drum loops. In that case, royalties might be needed!

    <font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana, Arial\">Unless you\'re using a player whose name is a draw, no way. It\'s a session.
