Good Looping Program?

I am looking for a good program for making loops of acoustic instrument sounds. I tried using Sound Forge but got very nasty results when trying to make a looped version of some woodwind notes. Is there something out there that can help to make clean sounding loops?

How do the pros do it?

Is there a good tutorial somewhere for making looped samples for gigastudio? I got Seamless Looper and it is indeed fantastic. Now I just need a crash course in how to create an instrument with looped samples.
