Its Hans Zimmer\'s music production company where other composers work as well. The sound refers to his and his colleague\'s music.
I believe a lawsuit has been brought by Han\'s partner that paints a big question mark on that company\'s future. At least as it exists now.
Try to listen to the scores for Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Rock, and you know what is typically meant by the \"MV sound\"... Lot\'s of percussion, stacked brass samples on top of real orchestra, low choirs, etc, etc. Functional, enjoyable and sometimes plainly boring and simple.
Also check out Hans Zimmer\'s work for Prince Of Egypt, The Lion King, Muppet Treasure Island, which are less pop-like and more classically influence (insert parts of Gladiator here also).
