New sample .wav...LP record needle scratch?

Anyone know where I can get a small wave file of that horrible sound an LP record makes when the needle scratches against it and is lifted abruptly? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks guys!

edit: (sorry title should say \"need sample .wav...\") How do we fix that?

Maybe plug in your turntable and record one?

I know it's a long time since the original post, but I found this forum through a websearch. I'm looking for this kind of sample too, does anyone have any suggestions where to look?

Yes, it is an old post....

Thanks, that's a good tip. Unfortunately, I don't have/use any of the software Specrasonic's Stylus needs to work.

I'm looking for more of a low-tech solution.

Maybe this could get you close...

    Its free.

You could just record the output of the VST effect and slice the wav for the needle scrape/scratch.

Here is the direct link for Vinyl: http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/vinyl/

As mentioned above it is free. I have had it for many years and only used it once, but it makes scratches, dust sounds, warp etc. etc. very very well. Kinda sets the bar for that sort of thing. While they do send you a serial # to activate it, izotope is a very reputable company and doesn't do anything with your e-mail address....
