    CFX Concert Grand

A new piano is listed in the Garritan webpage. Can we get more info?
    Thanks,

Well look at that! First I've heard of it, Sergio - No info seems available yet. I see it says "Abbey Road Studios" at the top of the advertisement at the MM Garritan page. So looks like this is the first of the things being developed by Garritan in conjunction with Abbey Road, something we first heard about well over a year ago. Interesting!

I guess I bought my Emotional Piano a tad bit too soon... Well, I am a piano guy so nothing like another piano to hop into the collection! I'm looking forward to this!

Hi Everybody. Sorry that I don't get in here more often! I hope all is well. I just saw the Garritan CFX Piano ad in Electronic Musician but cannot find pricing for it. Any info / ideas? Thanks!
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice there is.

Hi, Chip -Very good to see you here.

It's perplexing why there's a banner ad at the MM site for this piano, and now you're saying it's even in print - when the Library isn't even ready for Beta testing yet. Announcements are extremely premature. I suppose MM is trying to drum up interest in advance, but I don't see how it can be released any time soon.

Thanks Randy. It's good to see that this forum still exists. It's one of the best on the web.

Does anyone have any experience with the Garritan Harps package? It's only a hundred bucks and I need a good harp.

    All info appreciated.

I have Garritan Harps, Chip, and I can say without a single hesitation that it's an incredible Library, and quite a bargain at $100.

Great sound, a variety of articulations, a selection of harps, and if you need to keep your sound authentic to what a harp is capable of playing, the Pedal Mode is superb, working exactly as pedals do on a physical harp. The pedals are engaged via MIDI, so you can change pedalings during the course of a piece.

I used it in my Garritan Christmas project, and as whenever I use it, I found it easy to get great results from. The harps in GPO sound fine, but this collection is on a totally different level of authenticity.

    Here's the full manual:

And here's more info and some good demos:

Randy- this may prove to be interesting. I used the GPO Harp on my Garritan Christmas submission. If my piece makes the cut, we may have a handy comparison of the two.

FWIW - I have always thought the harps to be the best sounding virtual instruments in GPO library.
