Some Very Special and Good Gaming Music!

Here is another list of some of my favorite gaming scores. Very good stuff here!

Heroes of Might and Magic II - Barbarian Town (Opera)
This is a one of HOMM favorites.

    YS6 - Final Battle Theme:

This final battle is probably the most difficult battle I have ever had in gaming history. It took me days and days to finally beat this one battle. This guy in the video is good and makes it look easier, but he is still taking a lot of damage. Anyways, the theme is such an excellent video game tune! The final battle theme begins at about 1:11.
    Non-Game Footage Video (YS 6):

Ni No Kuni Dominion - World Map
An extremely epic and catchy piece, and well orchestrated.

    Hope everyone enjoys the listen!

    Good stuff indeed!

I really liked the Ni No Kuni, really well done.

But come on... that guy in the Final Battle thing is not that good...

It is quite a while I do not put my hands on a video game... but I do remember something from the past.
In-game music... I'd say Gabriel Knight II, without a doubt. The game was not so good -as a game. It was more like an interactive movie that you would "navigate" through weird puzzles... but there were a couple of things about it that are just unforgettable. The story, the script, was amazing. Deep, intricate, passionate, full of mysteries but strongly inspired by reality with roots in late '800 Bavaria, where the movies were filmed with real actors, and crossing path with King Ludwig II, the "swan" King. Characters were amazing, real, "thick", complex, very deep and charming, and actors involved were first class. Actor Peter Lucas gave face and soul to one of the most intriguing "bad guy" characters ever appeared on screen. ANY screen, really.
The story was written by Jane Jensen, and her husband, Robert Holmes, took care of the second huge pillar of this game, the AMAZING soundtrack. Unfortunately, back then MIDI was what it was so audio quality was not comparable to what we are used today... but the music was really serious.
    Listen, the main theme:

One of the movies opening (or closing, do not remember) one the game chapters:

At some point, Wagner gets into the plot. He was (in the real world) Ludwig's friend. An alleged "lost Wagner opera" gets staged:

Amazing, isn't it? I mean... it is just a video game!

And there were some quite impressive piano cues, so sweet, delicate, simple but immensely tasteful:

Or ... this actually is one of the best moments of the game. Hero and counter-hero having some nice time together, having drinks and ... a nice time with a 6 foot german blondie Jump to 3:45 (or do not jump, if you want to enjoy the blonde ) and listen to the piano piece. The scene is very good, the bad guy spreading his "evil shade" on our hero, Peter Lucas is really classy. But that piano... it is simple, really tonal and easy flowing, but listen to the accents. This is proper music.

Great job and, 20 years later, I still feel like congratulating the "couple".

Hehe! Great stuff. The music is indeed good. The female opera theme was great. I really loved the piano piece, a lot of emotion there. The video of the blonde and the guy was something, LOL! He just gives his date up! Is this one of those point and click adventures similar to Kings Quest?

Sorry for the late replay, didn't even notice the topic had reply until today.

The drinks... makes me want to have a nice Bottington's English ale!!!

    Thanks for the share!

    Cheers,

    Don't worry, pal!
Yep, it was a point and click. Basically, the game strategy was very simple: click on everything, something will eventually happen

    Hey, what about this one:

    Music by "BOMB THE BASS"
I did not play this game... but my younger brother used to spend hours on this. This music would echo throughout our house all the time.

Well, I gotta say that is like the retro version of the BIG BANG!! Pretty explosive stuff!!! Those space shooters are pretty damn good! My favorite video game of all time is The Guardian Legend. It is a cross between zelda and a space shooter. The music in the game is super epic as well! It would be worth your listen! TGL is a NES (Nintendo) game.

    With BACH in it!
Used to play this in bars, as a kid (really a kid...). It was such a long time ago that Bach himself got into a bar, saw Space Invaders and said: "Bah, I sure can write better music than this". And so Gyruss came out!

That was some very epic music! The video was great. That is indeed my style of synths! Got pretty difficult in the end there! I haven't really heard much of Bach's music to be honest. I have some of his work on a 12 piece classical bundle I picked up a few years bach. Perhaps it's time to pop in the cds again. I favorited that video to my youtube! Thanks for the share!
