    "Serenade For Strings"

    Y'all,

This is my simple, little string thing, "Serenade For Strings", a large part of which features the viola section.

    My best regards to everyone.

"Simple" but composed and delicate, Larry, with rhythm being the main "player" but with a handful of little surprises and some well thought contrasts here and there. I liked it so much.
The viola may have the main burden, as you say, but I liked very much those sustained sections by the violin, too - your violin does play them just fine - ... and the final cadence is so tasty, in contrasting style and voicing.

Great job... and thinking about the fact that this is "simple", for you....

Kind of like the "Simple symphony" of Benjamin Britten. Amazing how fulfilling "simple" can be at times.

Another masterful piece from Alexander's Rag to Riches" time band. Wheeeeee. What a delight Larry, you master craftsman you....

Nice -I get a double dose of Alexander on this break I'm taking this late morning. Once again your master class is in session, and I'm amongst the eager students in attendance. Very nice, Larry.

    Re: "Serenade For Strings"

Surely amongst your best, Larry. Aside from your always-capable
writing, I liked the rendering on this, too. What was the setup on
this? The strings had some nice bite and edge to them, just the
    way I like 'em...

    Best,
