    New version of SIR

I just found out that there\'s a new version of SIR at http://www.knufinke.de/sir/ .

Here are the new features (just copied it from the SIR site):

    1. the latency got reduced to 8960 samples

    2. the new paramter \"stretch\" allows you to change the length of the impuls response via up/downsampling the reverse button

    3. you can adjust the EQ with softer curve

    4. the memory consumption has been reduced

    5. the fileselecter remembers now the position of the current loaded waveform

    6. the \"dynamic CPU consumption\" allows you to free up unused CPU capacity

    7. \"+12dB button\" allows you to add 12db to your wet-signal

    8. a more respectable interface design

    9. many bugfixes and some smaller improvements ...

    10. ...and it\'s still free!

I\'ve been using this plug-in for quite some time and it\'s really wonderful. I can\'t wait to try the new version!

    Thanks Nhick.

It looks like Christian has effectively cut the latency in half.

<font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana, Arial\">Yes..I played with it last night and it\'s much easier on the CPU as well. And as always, it sounds great!

    Re: New version of SIR

I really like the new \'stretch\' parameter.

I can\'t tell the difference cutting the latency in half made because Sonar 3 has it\'s own latency compensation now.

However, the new SIR is indeed easier on the CPU. Overall, it actually looks much more pro as if it were some pricey plug-in already. I can\'t believe it\'s free!

    Re: New version of SIR

    Hey guys,

I am new to SIR (been on SRV 330 outboard or just SX\'s verb). Can you suggest a link for some \'free\' rooms so I can give this a test spin. What is everyone using to get good results (as far as IR\'s).

I certainly would be willing to buy an IR if it makes a difference.

    Thanks in advance.

Has the latency been improved to a point that one can play without hearable delay? I tried the previous version but found it way to slow.
