Orchestration of Beethoven's string quartett op. 135

I am working now also on an orchestration of Beethoven's last string quartett op. 135 and loved it never more than I do now:

Doesn't this Lento just cry out for an orchestral expression?

Gerd! I can't imagine the effort involved in getting these pieces to work with sampled software. What samples did you use for this? I enjoyed your post. Jay.

Hi Jay, from "Garritan instruments for finale" I used the violins KS, cello KS, alto flute PLR1, Oboe modern PLR1, BB Clarinet PLR1, Bassoon PLr1, French Horn PLr1, ... Important for the sound is the "Ambience reverb" with the proper Dry/Wet setting. Good to hear that this music speaks to you ...

My God, Gerd, this is a pleasure to listen to. And respect for the work you've put into this. Your orchestration is pretty much Beethovenian. It could have some more contrasts, but as a whole, it's very enjoyable and sounds quite nice. Only the timpani remain a little weak (they lack 'body').

    Well done!

Thank you, for your hint! I increased the volume of the timpani of the 2nd movement now by 10 %.

Also I just finished now the 4th movement(Grave / Allegro)! It was really a delight working on this!

I hope you'll like this one, too
