You might want to check out the short bows GPO demo from Francesco Marchetti. I\'m sure that the Cellos in GOS will cover it as well, but you\'ll get better results from the Maple MIDI Tools alternator.

That\'s what I get for getting pulled away from the PC. Good stuff.Originally posted by KingIdiot:
The strings are pretty slow, which is kinda why I thin GOS would pull it off well.
Yo King! Those ain\'t triplets!

Hehe, I listen to the LOTR stuff all the time and picked that one up right away. The hall they recorded in is what gives it that sound.
Good one Sam.
Chris
Actually this took 15 minutes. It\'s only got half the instruments, but you get the idea.

Its called \"LOTR Cellos Test\"
<font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana, Arial\">I tend to agree. Although after listening to Nick\'s example, I think the better question is which library would execute it the best. I loaded the MP3 and Nick\'s example into Samplitude, and the original is really muddy.Originally posted by Sharmy:
i think all the above libs could pull it off
I really liked what Nick did, and best of all, how quick he did it!
Could VSL do it?
Yes, probably using the 0\'5s 1+2 with the Performance tool in Alternation mode. But from this snippet, it sounds like cellos and violas in octaves.
I would say, yes, VSL can do it, but the real deciding factor for me would the available reverb.
With the Maple tools, I think GOS could do it, too, with short bows ALT. But again, if you\'re trying to match the recorded sound vs. the bowings, then reverb is critical, too.
But for speed, execution, and sonic quality, I really like what Nick did with QLSO.
And here\'s a budget (and not completely accurate) version with GPO, using less instruments and also too much verb, but you get the point:

This is cool...
GPO version sounds suprisingly good...
QLSO sounds big...but too sharp in color for my taste.
I\'ll try to do VSL and GOS version tonight..

Then we only need AO, US and Roland versions!
