Christian Obermaier posted his Demo Reel for reviews

Heya folks.

Here is my filmscore showreel, done at macrophone studios in my basement.

Logic Audio 5 on a Mac G4

Hey Christian! Always a pleasure to hear your newest work. What\'s really nice about this is the mix using older library samples - very clean and present. I liked it!

Hey Christian,
Nice to see you here. Don\'t know if you recall but I suggested you swing on over to Northern about six months ago from Sonik. Nice to see you made it over. The new reel sounds great and more interestingly, I love the \"ancient\" libs you used to get there. You are a great example of \"it\'s all in the writing\".

Yes i do recall, but i somehow didn\'t manage to enter, some bot at the door saying my name was already taken and i couldn\'t come in

Yes, that\'s where the funny bit starts: I did register back then when i was first researching Gigastudio (but didn\'t sell to) and honestly, i had totally forgotten this subscription over the years. So that\'s why i was rejected at the front door the second time around. Duh.

Nice work!
The end section was awesome.
What was the wind instrument at 4:15 and what library is it from?

It\'s a Doudouk, an armenian flute. If i recall correctly, it\'s from one of the Quantum Leap Rare Instruments volumes.

I enhanced it with pitched versions of itself which came in and out with automation at appropriate spots to create some overtone ringing. Uh, and the breath, that\'s me ;o)

Re: Christian Obermaier posted his Demo Reel for reviews

Good question ) It\'s been a while since i made that specific part. IIRC its normal sustained Siedlaczek and Vitous strings played in single lines and individual pitch bend on each of them.

YOu could do some real damage if you eventually plunge into QLSO & VSL & streaming computer samplers!
Anyway your sounding better with your \"old school\" rig than many composers with all the latest stuff.
Good luck
Dave
