Question for Roland users concerning switching between giga sounds.

I am trying to figure out how to switch between one organ stop (3d pipes) and another while playing on my roland rd 500 keyboard. Since the roland has no mod wheel and I\'d prefer not to use the expression pedal for this purpose, I was wondering if there is another way. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: Question for Roland users concerning switching between giga sounds.

If the RD500 sends prpgram changes when you change sounds using its front panel switches, you could assign your 3D pipe patches to the same patch numbers.

If you don\'t use the whole keyboard range when you\'re playing the 3D pipes patches, you could assign a couple of notes which you don\'t play to do a keyswitch between the patches. Basically this involves identifying a few \'spare\' keys, assigning each patch to be played by one of these keys, and combining the patches in the editor. When you\'re done, playing one of these keys becomes the equivalent of sending a programme select instruction.

    There\'s a keyswitch tutorial here:

You should also download the great editor manual which Kevin made:
