    Can someone identify this library??

If someone can identify the AKAI cd that has this layout for Partition A, that would be great (and a vendor also):

    Partition A
    BATA
    BELLS+CHIMES
    BONGOS
    CONGAS
    DJEMBE
    GONGS
    HAND DRUMS
    JUN JUN+BNGO
    M TREE+BELLS
    QUICA
    REPIQUE
    SURDO
    TALKING DRUM
    TIMBALES
    WATERPHONES

    thanks,

    brian

I would think my simple message makes that clear - because I want to buy it. I have it on a disk and have no idea about its origins or details which makes it unusable. But I think it is great. So how about an informative reply this time instead of playing games.

Thanks Christian. My intentions are indeed honest. I was on the best service site and checked out that cd. It does not appear to be the one I am looking for. The cd I have has strictly single and multisampled hits. No loops or grooves.

Try \"Steve Reid Definitive Percussion\". It\'s now pretty old (like 9 years). It seems to be available on the Voice Crystal site.

Thanks! That does appear to be it. Not bad for $100. Is there a modern equivalent of this library? Seems all I can find are loops. Not much out there when it comes to just samples. I bought Culture thinking it would be all I need. But I am looking for a library similar to that Steve Reid one that has extensive key mapping so that I can choose a variety of pitches for things like wood blocks, congas, etc. I love Culture, but it doesn\'t have a lot of key mapping. For instance, there are 3 different woodblock hits. And while I could use its pitch shifting ability, it is a) inconvenient and b) starts sounding bad with more extreme shifts.

    thanks,

Steve Reid is has some good stuff you wont find anywhere. Its based on an audio CD sample library release so its very limited but its worth having if you like the sounds on it. Good waterphones & various blowing effects. I thought that list looked familiar.

I like the Wizoo Latin Percussion set. It\'s all Latin, of course, but includes a good variety of well-recorded samples and comes in several sampler formats. If you\'re a Logic/EXS user you can get it along with their Platinum 24 Grand Piano and Mixtended Drums all for 99 Euro!
