    Something to put you in the holiday spirit

    Here are some selections from the Nutcracker Ballet:

    Chinese Dance - Submitted by Jim Ortner.

    Overture - Submitted by Jim Ortner. The Overture to this famous Ballet.

    Ballet Scene 1 - Submitted by Jim Ortner. An excerpt from Act 1, Scene 1, the Lighting of the Christmas Tree

    Ballet Scene 4 - Submitted by Jim Ortner. An excerpt from the 4th Scene (Dansante)of Act One from the Nutcracker.

    Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy - Tchaikovsky was the first to use a celeste in a major wok in the \"Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy\". The delicate sound of the celeste in Personal Orchestra is a celeste made by Mustel.

    Nutcracker Personal Orchestra Instrumentation: 3 flutes, 2 oboes, English horn, 2 clarinets, bass clarinet, 2 bassoons, 4 horns, 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, bass trombone, tuba, cymbals, triangle, tambourine, glockenspiel, timpani, harp 1, harp 2, celesta, First Violins Section (pizz, sustains & shortbows), Second Violin Section (pizz, sustains & shortbows), Solo Stradivari Violin, Solo Gagliano Violin, Viola Section (pizz, sustains & shortbows), Solo Cello 1, Solo Cello 2 , Cello Section (pizzicato, sustains & shortbows), Solo Double Bass, Double Basses (pizzicato, sustains & shortbows). These demos were sequenced and mixed with Cakewalk Sonar. More Nutcracker demos to be posted.


    And here is a piece by Ron James sure to get you in the holiday spirit. All instrumentation is from GPO.

    like me that are still waiting for their GPO
