Schubert: Piano Sonata a-minor D784 for Orchestra

In the last 2 weeks I made a new attempt to orchestrate one of the great classic piano sonatas as I have formerly done with the last Beethoven piano sonatas. Here present to you the first movement of Schubert's great sonata in a-minor from 1823 (one year after the "Unfinished" symphony). I think this awesome movement just cries for an orchestral interpretation!

    I. Allegro guisto

    Further movements:

    III. Allegro vivacce (!!!)

Thank you, Gerd, for posting this!

Very well done orchestration; it sounds as if written for orchestra!
This is a great use of the MIDI/sequencer tools that we have available nowadays: it allows much more experimentation with existing music of the past centuries and allows to listen to them in a new way.

I am looking forward to further music from you.

Thank you, Reinhold, it is really a tremendously enriching experience to work on some of the great master works and perform them with new colours, with different instrumentation! I just finished also the second movement, the wonderful Andante:
