    Marty's Song

Hi: I have posted this song before here, and as I'm sure you can appreciate, I re mix and have been learning reaper for about 4 months. Reaper, has rendered a much higher quality file than what is exported as audio from finale. In this file, I am using finale pm2011, GPO4, GWI, Reaper, and audacity. Happy holidays.

    Re: Marty's Song

Hello Andino, and thank you for listening and commenting. Marty, was a dear friend, along with her husband. They lived in New Orleans, her husband, Spike, is a well known bassist around New Orleans. As NO is a major tourist destination, they have provided accommodations for many people over the years, as they have an extra room in the duplex they lived in. They were kind hearted people whose extra room was always used, especially during mardi gras. I have visited with them on several occasions. There was always a bohemian atmosphere of music jamming in the tiny kitchen, wine drinking, and interesting conversation. Last spring, Marty, dropped dead in her tracks standing in the kitchen. As the news reached us, I could hardly believe it, and was deeply saddened by her passing. That day,I wrote the song, and tried to capture her childlike nature, and fun spirited manner. Spike, her husband, played the audio recording at her memorial. As I gained more audio production skills, I began to use a DAW, and made several mixes of Martys Song, this being the last and best. I used lydian mode for the song, and utilized finale notation software, Garritan personal orchestra 4, and Garritan world instruments. Later on, I began learning REAPER DAW, and rendered this mix.
