Advice on price bidding for a project

***Advertisments***
I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to give me some ideas on pricing points for a project I may be involved in.

In a nutshell, a production company is bidding on producing a video series for a company, and they called me and asked if I\'d be interested in scoring the project, and asked me to prepare a bid. I am still waiting to hear specific details, but for simplicities sake, let\'s say it\'s one video, a half an hour in length, with say, half of that time needing score to be composed and recorded. Let\'s say for this senario it would be mostly sequenced, without the need to budget for live players.

Most of the work I do is in record production, although I\'ve produced songs that have been used in film and video, but I\'ve never done the score. I would love to have the opprotunity do this, as I\'ve always been very interested in it. (part of the reason I hang out on this forum!) But, what is roughly a \"ballpark\" figure for the work I described above?

I realize there are many parameters involved in answering that question, not the least of which involves previous experience, location, etc, etc...

Perhaps the scope of this is too much to be answered here, but if there are any suggestions to help me zero in on a \"neighborhood\" for a bid, I would deeply appreciate it.

Thanks in advance...

Well, to be a bit more specific...

I was just told it will be roughly 75 to 85 minutes of bed music (several videos).
Also, go ahead and budget for some live musicians. That part I\'m more than comfortable with. It\'s the compositional part of the bid that I\'m really in the dark about.

Anyhow, if this is at all something that can even be discussed, I would appreciate the advice, even the obvious stuff.

Thanks again...

Bed music? Live musicians?

Since when have pornos needed the \'live\' factor?
