My 9 year old nephew has been humming this and would like a copy for his iPod. Can anyone recommend a link? Thanks.
Well, if you don't locate a suitable one, I will make one. Are you sure you want WAV and not mp3? WAV will be better quality, but a much larger file, and probably won't be found for this reason. For my own use, on a Sony Walkman, I use high resolution mp3 which approaches WAV quality.
They've got 3 CC By non-commercial licensed recordings for Fur Elise on there, and you're free to do whatever you want with those non-commercially so long as credit is given (one of them is 'no derivatives' though). Note that the 'purchase' section is just links to amazon/etc. for if you were looking for a CD, paper copy of the score, etc., and not the mp3's that are freely available for download.
It's hit and miss (usually miss) for whether there will be an actual recording for a given piece, but you'll find them for a number of the more popular pieces. Not a bad place for scores though, for pieces that are now in the public domain.
Wow. That would be great. I spent some time looking for this piece with him yesterday (well, for as long as a nine-year-old's patience would allow) and everything we came up with was "royalty free" after purchase or something that wouldn't play back.
You're right, mp3 would be better for him. I was going to make an mp3 from the wav file myself, using Sonar.
I want to encourage his interest in music, since he seems to have an inherent attraction to classical pieces and doesn't get much exposure to them through the normal media channels.
