Question Garritan forum at MakeMusic - GONE! - temporarily.

    Hi all,

I've just tried to log in to the Makemusic Garritan forum and - nothing, nowt, zero, gone, error 404.

Is this a sign of something sinsister, or just a site under maintenance?

    It's been remarkably quiet.
    GPO5?
    Strings?
Have we seen the last of the Garritan products?
    I certainly hope not.

    Regards,
    John.

The Finale forum is down too!

The fact that you would read THE END into the outage is a sure sign of how poorly they have managed the community since taking over.

    Manage, MANAGE!

Is that what they've been doing?

Forgive me, I always thought the word had a different, more positive meaning.

    Oh, well.

GPO5 is in the works and is being beta tested.

Excellent! Any indications of the changes or price?

Wonderful news. Needed something to cheer me up.

I'd just love to know what it includes, hopefully strings with controllable vibrato for one.
An oboe da caccia (or two), violoncello piccolo, theorbo, viola da gamba, and a cornetto would be outstanding, but I shan't hold my breath on those.

If it's in Beta then there's a prospect for release in the not too distant future.
    Maybe early '16. Here's hoping.
Reminder to self: Better start accumulating some serious pennies from the pension.

Very many thanks for the news Dan.
    You made my day.

    Regards,
    John.

That would sure make for a fantastic Christmas gift, you think?

Don't think it's likely to be Christmas '15, do you?

It would be a Merry Christmas indeed, were it so.
But I shan't hold my breath.

    John.
While it is agreed by all beta team tester folks, one thing is that we shan't disclose anything about the libraries being tested.

It would be a very nice Christmas present indeed, but I just don't think it will be ready that soon.
